There are quest lines with multiple npc's scattered throughout the world and in a central hub zone which give you their tale to piece together in aggregate. There is definitely story, it just doesn't come to you the way an rpg normally delivers it and its sparse on detail.
I read once that Miyazaki does this with the games because you get more from your imagination that way. This is based on his experience reading Frankenstein as a child and not having the English vocabulary to understand it in full.

This to me is the beauty of the souls game, you end up playing in persistent fear that you might be pushing too hard and it normally results in your fear being proved right.
Doesn't even matter if you're revisiting an area whilst overpowered, if you're taking the power for granted you'll get done in.Not many games have that, you level up and up and most of it, even the end game becomes completely trivial as a result.
4 hrs in and it feels like this game is going to be providing for me for months. I always get drawn in to seeking the platinum trophy for souls games and if this has the same ng+2 requirements of the others it's going to be a delightful pain in the ass.

Really valuable info thanks @M_V
I'm going to take a full review at end of summer before the bulky winter coats come out squeezing them up again. Will definitely come back if I need to go up in height. -

Nice one gents. That madjax looks like a great solution.
I have given the Terns some thought @amey especially with your passionate ratification of them.
But I much prefer the weight down low and in front if me.
My favourite part of the school trip is hearing them point out stuff in front, up high and to the sides of them. With them sat behind they’re going to lose out on that view and my guesstimate is that at 6ft4 the front most child is going to have the worst view imaginable with the seat post angle taking you further back the higher you go. -
What do people do when their kids get a bit too tall for the Bullitt canopy? Eldest says she is banging her head on the side bar. Also with winter coats it's pretty snug with the two of them side by side.
I'd roll back to using the side panels but that's much too narrow for two kids.
Any of the other cargos more accommodating than this for 6-8 year olds? (She's 5 now but looking ahead) -

Great game, I ended up building out for the Holy moonlight sword in end game.
The starting weapon was actually really good for most of it too. IIRC the trick weapons all have a default fast mode and a heavier slow mode.
