I wonder if more people working from home, has just meant you are seeing more people actually using their classic cars, rather than only having a chance at the weekend...
As far as early 70's 911's, I had zero problems with the couple I had, they were ridiculously reliable, and very easy to maintain..
Think buying badly probably applies to any old cars, maybe more so now, as prices are all a bit crazy..

@D-Dog does that include the black-tac or not?

Congrats @Manson7am that is a special watch !
Was trying to wear my 145.006 today, but somehow managed to be a spring bar short....
Anyways here'a quick shot of it balancing precariously on top of my Freese 002
-
@Simpson absolutely fantastic that you have such special watches from your Father, with the additional bonus that they were BBC issued..
I have seen many stopwatches that were BBC issue, but not so many regular watches.. They are both stunning.
I would 100% get Simon Freese to service them, he will preserve the patina, whilst ensuring the movements are perfect.
Thanks for sharing

Congrats @Manson7am, You can never go wrong with a Speedmaster... My advice would be to join the Omega Forum (https://omegaforums.net) where there is a huge amount of info, and generally some very nice watches for sale, from other enthusiasts, or professional sellers..
Of course @ejay2.0 should also be your 1st port of call for I think new/newer Speedies.
Chrono24 always seems to be at the very expensive end of things...
Good luck with your search

@inchpincher @ejay2.0 thanks Guys, it's such a terrible pic on so many levels...
-
@Regal, Next time I wear it, I will take a decent Pic
-
-
@inchpincher thats a great looking 145.016.. but it would be good if it was bought from Kov..
You are absolutely bang on about redials and polished cases...
I have plain black dial 145.006...
-
Thanks @inchpincher its an old faithful
-
@DethBeard thanks chap, they are cracking watches
-
@Regal as far as I know, 2998-1 to 105.003 are all the same case size. The pushers are a bigger diameter post 2998-62.. There are nuances to certain years/models, but that's a wormhole for you to enjoy :)
Absolutely awesome project, in theory it's similar to what me and the wife are trying to achieve in Portugal...
What materials are you building the walls with, straw bales?
Subbed and looking forwards to following all the updates>
