True, Big manufacturers can get their own frame components made with their names / logos on them.

Smaller outfits took OEM components and had them engraved.

If I remember my mechanics from 40 plus years ago the bearing / races undergo fretting and not brinelling so affects top and bottom of the headset.

Monty Don said last night was a good time to move woody plants. Soil is warm enough to establish some root growth but light levels low so not much energy going into foliage.

Iirc fretting is associated with vibration which affects all the bearing surfaces ?

I’ve used some things that soak in water and go around the rawlplug. Had mental block on what they are called and not sure they would help.

BITD police retired after 30 years on 2/3 rd salary. My NHS pension is 1/2 salary after 40 years.

Both have changed to career average but both still defined benefit not private. Police is about 54% salary as a pension after 30 years service.

Rachel Reeves has both these pensions in her sights as she wants to cut the cost of public service pensions....

Way back a company called Godspeed did a brake upgrade for the Impreza, new disks, Ferrodo pads, lines and fluid.... All fitting under the OEM WRX wheels.

Worked really well as the OEM callipers are nice. I guess the company is defunct now.

Only issue with windscreen replacement is that some PCP / lease contracts are sniffy about only using an OEM replacement.
