They aren't trying to stop you doing what you want. They're trying to stop you doing something you will, in all likelihood regret. As I understand it, a custom frame is something you decide to get after riding many different bikes for many many miles. Its a distillation of, and a reflection of your devotion to cycling, not a thing you do simply because you have the money. I do not mean this to sound harsh - I was lolling because it struck me as funny that no-one quite knew how to tell you this.

For Sale is my Genesis High Latitude 29er. Alfine 11 , Deore mineral oil discs, reynolds 520 frame tubing.
Its a frame size 20.5, which would I guess suit a rider over 5' 10. I'm 6' 3 and its set up for me in the picture. Its 2 years old, and has had about 2 months use. The reason for the low mileage is I bought it as a winter bike purely because I could (I'm more of a roadie by inclination), and at the time I was working at a bike shop and could therefore buy at trade. The retail on these was £1700. Having said that it rides beautifully, and if I could keep it I would. Its super low maintenance, stops like that, and has the safest feel of any bike I've ever ridden. I'm asking £700, if that strikes you as unreasonable pitch me an offer. Available to test ride, I'm in Clapham. Its been lovingly maintained, I'm a Digger-trained mechanic :-). -
