Sadly, as the article says, he's not cycling at the moment.
Indeed, maybe it's an old photo, but I liked the implication that he insisted on being photographed with his "classic Dawes racer", that he will yet cycle again, and that, judging by the picture, he does have one bike for life that he's absolutely ridden into the ground!

If you, @noBlakes and @damitamit, might like to arrange a split, I could be interested in everything apart from the frame+headset.

Soon after Wiggins won, I was chatting with a friend and we agreed that we really hoped it wouldn't turn out he was doping. I claimed that if it did, I'd feel so let down that I'd have my road bike cubed and sent to him as as a show of the disappointment I felt. Seems to be getting closer to the point of finding a car crusher ... any excuse for a new frame, obviously.

Tweed is earthy, maybe it's had a bit of a moment recently, but:
https://www.walkerslater.com have shops in London that you can check out in person. The webpage seems to emphasise the formal aspect a bit but you don't have to wear (or buy) the full three piece business, think they do OTP and fitted versions.
I've seen good things about http://www.tweedaddict.com elsewhere on here, quite youthful style I think, which might be a way to avoid ill-fitting traditional styles , 2-piece tweed suits a standard item.
Also https://www.walkerslater.com would be a bit more old school in style but they have shops in London that you can check out. The webpage seems to emphasise the formal aspect a bit but you don't have to wear (or buy) the full three piece shenanigans, AFAIK they do OTP and fitted versions.
Not usually earthy colours (and certainly not earth-bound budget): https://www.dashingtweeds.co.uk
Less formal jackets/trousers in twill/wool/canvas/cord/linen/earthy shades etc: https://www.old-town.co.uk
If you want to get something bespoke, now is a good time to get looking because it generally needs a few months. There is a thread... https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/182490/

There's plenty of ch0ice of all sorts of things in all parts of the island on Airbnb (at least for GC). We found an amazing one, well off the beaten track. We were a bit unlucky with nearby roadworks that restricted our route options a bit, but its not something you normally think of checking in advance, and even if you did I'm not sure if you could.

Also check out the heavy methil thread for spray.bike advice.
When I used it I stripped the frame, filled, smoothed etc and primed. My impression is that the colours have different performances - flouro orange was really dry and powdery, wouldn't fancy trying to get it to stick on preexisting clean shiny paint; quasar went on nice and smooth; dark green was in-between. Other experiences on here are also mixed - I'd prep as much as possible to try to ensure success.

Hi, sorry, we would have, but I didn't see this until the day after, was a bit busy trying to refuel Mrs X (not that hungry she claimed, excited) and Miss X (always hungry if chips are available, rather tired) and hit the road home. I would like to have stuck around a bit longer but unfortunately work on Sunday morning for me, and other plans for them meant we had to skedaddle. Sorry you didn't have a good day. If I'd known you would be back early, you could have visited a gorge, eaten some cake, and checked out some playgrounds with us...
@Cycliste seems to have pushed on briskly from the Nufenen, I think we deduced she was an hour (or more?) ahead at the finish. Mrs X had a crash near Airolo, she isn't sharing the details but she got a really big graze on one knee and damaged a pedal so she couldn't clip in properly. Luckily she could force the shoe into the pedal with her hands so she carried on. Then she caught the full rain storm on the Sustenpass and nearly called for rescue. But she finished like a warrior, by far her longest ride with biggest height gain, and with considerably less training than I would have wanted if I was her.

Hi @danstuff , @Cycliste , wondered if you are Alpenbreveting this weekend? Mrs X will be riding, hopefully sticking to her guns and going for the gold one, possibly in an LFGSS Ladies jersey; I'll be around to meet her at the finish, easily recognisable by the same spex as before, plus a toddler. Do say hello if you spot either of us.

He does look robust for an 86-year old!
