First 45 minutes of the highlights on demand was tennis. Then 5km from the end it cut out. Managed to watch it in the end though.
Which channel? We watched the Eurosport afternoon coverage on demand, fastforwarding the tennis at the beginning. Just as the leaders started to manoeuvre with 1 km to go it stopped - unbelievable! We tried watching the following tennis show and it carried on at least until the various GC groups were finished.

There are at least few well known isomeric pairs that smell different, e.g.:

There was some discussion about heat treating aluminium or not just recently in the tester approves thread. The treatment must relax/modify some microstructure and I can't imagine why a second treatment would have any further effect than modifying the microstructure around the new welds, but I am not a a materials scientist...

I'm halfway through something - have done the masking with the fluid but haven't time to finish the painting. You can also get it in a fibre-tip pen which draws ok on bike paint in my case, but I guess also steel. It's called a molotow (https://shop.molotow.com/en/marker-refills/molotow-grafx-art-masking-liquid-pen-2mm.html). It dries pale blue when the pen is working smoothly but a bit clear when less comes out.

TLDR for Renfe: Check very carefully the dimensions of your packed bike before you get there; book your train tickets in advance and try to verify them close to travel date; build some margins in to your schedule; also avoid queues and disappointment by booking tickets to the Alhambra in advance (the deal where you go to the Nasrid palace, which is the most popular part, in the evening and then the tickets were still valid the next day to visit the rest is pretty good because the palace is just as spectacular by night).
We took bikes by train from the UK to Extremadura in 2014, and have also been by train from the south of France to Andalusia without bikes. I would love to tour in Spain again.
Eurostar I think is easy enough to find out about. If you can drop off your bikes the day before you avoid the problem with them possibly going on a later train to you. You can cycle across Paris, but then IIRC you have to put them in a bag of no particular size for the TGV.
Renfe, once you're on the train is amazing (they display the speed in the carriage and it goes incredibly fast but is completely smooth, it's spacious, it has "in-flight" movies...). But, we needed to pick up our tickets in Barcelona and that part of the station was pandemonium, so under time pressure at the airport style security/check in we found not only that bikes had to be in bags, but that the sizes they allow are specific and really quite small and they are quite strict about it. We had very cheap bike bags that were not rigid and with a bit of pulling them about we got the dimensions close enough to persuade them (my wife speaks basic but enthusiastic Spanish), but even after the dash from the ticket office it did look for a few minutes like we might still get stuck in Barcelona. After Madrid we must have travelled by local trains, on which you can conveniently transport your bike whole, but to get to Andalusia you would probably want another high speed one. Navigating the main Madrid train stations doesn't seem trivial to me, but when we had the bikes with us we had plenty of time for that. In Extremadura we went on a week long tour in a loop and just asked if we could leave the bike bags at the hotel we stayed at on the first night, this worked fine.
I had another strange experience with Renfe on a different trip when I bought a ticket at a machine with my credit card, presented it at the gate not long after to board the train and found it had been cancelled without notice (apparently by the card company) and I had to buy another and wait probably 2 hours for the next train, with no guarantee it wouldn't happen again.

Have you seen https://www.audax-suisse.ch/ and https://www.audax-suisse.ch/brevets/ ? Not real races apparently, but if you're interested in starting with an audax-style event and don't fancy 1000 km in UK weather. In previous years I think they just did one at each distance for PBP qualifying, but next year they seem to have quite a few of the shorter ones.

Not much I guess? I've also had a look, and I did once see a road frame, on ebay I think.
In this book https://www.amazon.com/Carbon-Cycle-Crossing-Great-Divide/dp/1927330777 the author got a Charles/Charlie Ralph tourer for the trip and says he specialised in building bikes for people who were of unusual sizes, and that he is/was "exuberant".

Usual method, if you don't have a reciprocating saw, is a normal long hacksaw blade. You can do some bodges to make it more comfortable (a cork on the spine of the blade where you want to apply pressure with your finger, some sort of stick through the hole that you can grip in your hand), and you need a large number of them because any hint of bluntness saps your morale too much to finish it...
When I think of doing it again, Seatpostman looks brilliant actually.
When I did mine I read a very good explanation about getting a carbon post out of a carbon frame by clamping the frame so that the seat tube would be slightly compressed lengthways and so, if anything expanded. Then the post was pulled under tension, tending to thin it. I guess he is doing something like this since he's working with all materials and so successful.

For the forks: would you mind posting them (international)? Do you know their history (have you had them from new? how many kilometres have they done? any big bumps? etc)? Would they clear 25 or 28 mm tyres easily?
