Not been able to progress this as I've had a recurring shoulder injury. Will get it built up by my LBS in Manchester once they're back from holiday. Final parts list as follows:
f/f: Arkose with Eccentric BB shell
wheels: Kinesis CX Disc / 35mm Vittoria Voyage hyper tyres
Brakes: TRP Spyre with Goodridge compressionless cables
Levers: "Silver" branded Dia Compe bar end (r/h only)
Drivetrain: Campag centaur cranks/ BBG bashguard / 42t TA inner Ring / Deda dog fang / Veloce Short cage rear mech / Campag 12 - 28 cassette
Cockpit: FSA omega compact 44cm / Cane Creek SCR 5 levers
Guards: PDW Full metal fenders -

Thanks for the replies. @edscoble I'll be riding plenty of hills, maybe a 39t ring will be required. Ive minimal experience of off road riding, so am unsure of the range that'll suit me yet

... as they are so nice I'm going to stick with an all campag drive train. Was also talked out of the Shiftmate solution by my LBS- Keep pedalling in Manchester.
Drivetrain will be a veloce/ centaur mix. BBG bashguard and dog fang to keep the chain on. Dia Compe bar end friction shifter for gears .
Just have to decide between BB7 and Spyres for brakes.The decision will probably come down to price- where can I get Spyres cheap(ish)?
