Moved last September into a house that had clearly had the kitchen re-done for sale in an all expense spared manner! Hasn't been done wonderfully (or indeed, to our taste) but the crazyness of house prices around the stamp duty deadline ate up all our renovation cash.
The kitchen cabinets themselves are inoffensive and pretty new - can I just replace the worktops with something less unpleasant to give me a new kitchen vibe on a budget? Assuming so, how much of a pain will this likely be? I have no idea whether anything would need to happen with the gas line to the gas hob for instance when either removing the old, or fitting the new...

I have an old football stadium folding chair I'd like to mount onto a piece of wood, to live in a nook in my office. Any ideas for what to use to attach it to said wood? Not quite sure how to source a fat but short woodscrew. Or indeed if that would be strong enough - perhaps some kind of bolting required instead.
Chair below - I have the small offcut its currently standing on, and a bigger bit I'll probably have to use instead.

I have these as my desk speakers (also hooked up to a guitar thingy) - they good!
Very directional as they are studio monitors so recommend some little stands to point them towards your ears, like these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kanto-Desktop-Speaker-Stands-Speakers/dp/B00X16SBU6?th=1
Can fine tune the bass/treble cutoffs on the back if you find them boomy or harsh.

I'd worry giving them a chewychew (this is a treat right?) just after you've said "no" is likely to confuse them as to what the "no" means. I.e., they just think - "awesome, when i jump on the sofa, he says something and gives me a treat, let's keep doing that then!".
Personally, I'd just go for the relentlessly boring approach of "no" and remove them from the sofa. Over and over and over again until they give up trying. Worked with our dog when we didn't want him to sleep on the bed. And by 'worked' I mean we had three sleepless nights removing him every two minutes until he got it.
Problem with the Scottish data, so three days of cases have been reported on the same day, making yesterday's total look much higher:
"Due to technical issues Public Health Scotland was unable to provide new figures for 12 - 14 March. The data published on 15 March covers data since Saturday 12 March."
