/\This/\ I had a day off the other week and bought a copy of Lost Lanes in the hope it'd inspire me to go for an afternoon adventure/explore. It arrived on Friday, went for one of the rides on Sunday. A short train journey to God knows where in Essex. Saw hardly any other cyclist, hardly any cars. Even with the evil headwind it was great being out away from everything for an afternoon and just taking my time. Took a flask of tea, some sandwiches and stopped a lot. Haven't been on the bike since but started to get the fun / freedom feeling back.

@brokenbetty awesome build. My kingpin is currently hibernating, waiting for spring to arrive (I removed the mudguards as they got damaged). Can't wait, definitely fun to ride.

Anyone recommend a decent decaff option for aeropress? Trying to decrease caffeine intake due to ridiculous stress levels at work. Plan is - espresso before leaving the house, decaff at work.
Also - have a large (6 cup) Bialetti moka express going free if anyone wants it. Could probably do with a new filter plate.

Rode in today for first time in weeks. Cold but sunny and crisp. Half term = quiet roads. Took my time, explored a New route and had a coffee in a flask as a reward for arriving in the office. Marvellous. Going to try and ride in a couple of times this week to see if today was a one off or if the mojo is returning.

Went for that group ride this morning. Had 4 hrs sleep. Got to the meeting point at 8am. Organiser was an hour late. Everyone was weird. When we actually started riding out the group went through three red lights in a row. I was so hacked off I just went home. Spent the day eating crap and sitting on the sofa. And feel all the better for it.

Thanks. Have signed up for a group ride to Oxford on Sunday with London Bike and Beer group. Haven't done new a group ride so thought I'd try something different. Giving the bike a good clean etc as @JamesNQ mentioned should help. Thunk it's more related to what's at the end if the ride than the ride itself. Ie. Stressful no fun job.

Off sick today with a virus. Haven't ridden to work for over a week, just can't be bothered even though I hate getting the tube home (enjoy reading/listening to music on the way in). Wanted to get back on it after Christmas, (weighed myself and 2 stone overweight. Fat git), but so far just haven't been motivated other than a on week of commuting and one long weekend ride to Cambridge.
Think its tied to general work/life stress and subsequent depression. Need to ride to lift a bit of depression. Cant be bothered to ride due to same bit of depression.
