I want to try and set up a Pi media server for the house (I think...), mainly because lockdown is draining and I'm bored of being tied to Spotify etc.
That said, I can't seem to find a decent tutorial for actually doing this. Everything I've seen either presumes an insane level of tech knowledge, or is simply "buy x".
Am I missing something out there? I'm happy to learn new things and put some effort in, but I'm drawing a blank so far. Any ideas?

Thanks @duncs and @Bainbridge!
Edit; double thanks @duncs, not sure how I missed that post!
Any difference between 'remortgaging' and 'further borrowing'? Presumably the latter might be quicker, as there's not another application process to go through (given that yes, we have a chunk of equity to eat into)?

This is, I think, a silly question, but if you don't ask...
Looking to carry out some major building works on our home (say £50k in total). We 'own' about 50% of the equity in the house. To pay for the works, we'd like to borrow against the house, probably pushing up our total borrowing to about 60/65% of the value of the house.
So, silly questions:
I presume we're technically looking to remortgage? Is this all we need to be saying when we approach our lender? "We're looking to remortgage to pay for some building works"?!
if approved, is it likely that the lender sends a wodge of cash to your nominated bank account, or are staggered payments more common?

Might be a silly question, but here goes...
I don't have much/any experience with square taper bb cranksets. I'm finding my NDS Crank arm is working itself loose over the course of say a one hour ride. If it makes any difference, the crankset has self-extracting bolts.
Google suggests I need to tighten up the crankarm bolt fully, so that the crank is flush with the bottom bracket. However, if I do that, the crank seems to seize up completely and will longer spin freely.
Diagnosis? I'm tempted to remove and replace the bottom bracket - I bought the bike as a beater off here about 5 years ago, so it could probably do with an overhaul. Is there anything obvious I'm missing in the meantime?

PMs sent, thank you to both.
Bowman is lovely @jono84, but I'll pass, thank you!

@Albb - lovely, just not quite what I'm after, but thanks!
@billygoat8 - good question. I'm trying to be as flexible as possible, but £300 seems to be about what I could stretch to (which I know is probably very limiting).

Could I get an opinion as to whether a quote I've had is in the right ballpark, or wildly out?
Work involves (at a high level) to a 7m x 5m L-shaped living/dining room:
- skimming the walls and ceiling, but no decorative finish
- ripping out an old gas fire place, including the mantel, capping gas supply below boards and replastering as a 'void' space
- re-boarding the entire floor with ply (but no finish, so carpet/boards extra)
- minor electrical work (one new socket)
All in, I've been quoted £2.8k (ex VAT). Seems reasonable-ish, but this is all fairly new to me...
- skimming the walls and ceiling, but no decorative finish

Just to reiterate what everyone has already said, but these bags are really quite something. Not only was my bar bag made and delivered in super quick time, the quality and finish is really quite exceptional. Definitely one of my favourite purchases for a long, long time (not to be too 'Kondo' about it, but it IS one of those things that fills with me joy). If you're looking for anything like this at all, I don't see why you'd go for anything else!

Critical illness insurance on a mortgage? Good idea? (Well, yes, I guess it goes without saying that it's a good idea, if money were no object). Seems very spenny for the amount of cover provided? Don't think I'm being too tight here, but maybe!
