The guards are alright, but they’re no Honjos.
Unfortunately my Honjo mudguards didn’t fit with 42c tyres, which is bizar for a frame which is supposed to be paying homage to classic randonneuring.
Need to add flaps.

This setup worked pretty well for me, albeit a bit too front loaded.

Succumbed to peer pressure from @Josh, and swapped out the drop bars.
Doesn't look great, but rides really nicely.
Upside down shifter orientation, to preserve the on the lever clamp hand position.
