Alright LHL, Have you tried moving seat back a tad? I'm longer in the body than leg so having seat set back to extend & straighten reach to my gibbon-width bars works OK.

Was on stopline at crossroad near Fiveways today when some RLJing knob rolled past me way out into middle of junction. So far so stupid but a few seconds later what I'd assume to be his son went past following his leader into the danger zone. Luckily no prang despite a lot of traffic but when light goes green (which they wouldn't be aware of) they set off in response to clear road ahead. I hung back to give space and it became obvious dad was a total arse as he powered away leaving kid behind, only to catch up when they got to next junction, at which point they got wrong side of traffic and nearly got left hooked fifty yarrds further along. Kid was patently unsafe on road, bike being one he was probably expected to "grow into" (frame too big, single speed road bike too highly geared for him to pull away without wobbling all over the show). Stayed behind and took line outside kid for about a mile to run interference on traffic before they made a scary turn across traffic (signals were given!) and left the main drag. Boy was about 12-13 years old and I was so tempted to have a word with the Dad about road safety training and issues with kid's bike and all that. Apologies for length, needed to vent. Sad accident waiting to happen with gave me a frustrating sad :^(

Some roadie speedster pissed me off on way home tonight by overtaking and cutting across me as I was going around a parked car. Hazard bonus double pointer because a dirty great concrete lorry was passing us both at the same time. Caught up at next set of lights and pointed out error of his ways. He blamed the trucker for "pulling across him". No you fucking plank, YOU caused the problem by failing to tuck in behind until it was safe to overtake! Is bad enough dealing with motor traffic without selfish bollockhead lycra tart wannabe time triallists acting like entitled pricks.

Witnessed an irate mum interrupt her school run to pull up on wrong side of road on zig-zags near a zebra, storm across road and berate young teens who her dear and blameless child was having some sort of beef with. Much swearing ensued.

Street theatre 10/10 Lack of consideration for other road users 4/10. Headwind 2/10.

Fair comment but rear still has plenty tread, just not as much as up front which looks pristine. Same tyre & vintage so swapping should be OK and I expect wear would even out in a while.

Main problem is I just like skidding.

Lovely rides today. Not too much wind, dry and bright and perfect conditions for a skidfest. Must swap front and rear tyres to even up the wear though. Lots of nice considerate drivers and no murderous dicks encountered. Huzzah!

Lovely ride into town today from south, even Hammersmith A219 junction navigated with panache & speed, like a leaf on the wind.

But on way back some skip toting tipper truck (white model LF) tried to crush me up! Fucker came from behind and right and indicated left to move into my lane while overtaking on approach to Morden roundabout. Lucky I baled onto cycle path by Morden Hall Park but the cheeky cunt waved and grinned as he completed overtaking like it was a fucking joke.

Footie socks are the thing. But not pulled up to the knee FFS.

I say we take off and nuke the entire bike from orbit.
