I’m 6’2” and a 61cm frame would be absolutely massive on me. Bear in mind along with the TT size, the headtube will increase - likely to be about 5cm more.

Only way to mimic a 56cm with 100mm stem would be to run a 50mm -30 degree stem. It’d look hideous and handle terribly.

Another very good argument against legalised doping is that it will then become prevalent in junior ranks. Pushy parents are bad enough with equipment and coaches - there are already ones putting their kids on power meters, don’t let them loose on doping regimes that could fuck their kids up for life as well.

All it would take is for one moron to put their 12 year-old on a course of HGH, testosterone and EPO, and it’d be naive to think that wouldn’t happen if you normalise it amongst the pros, of which they aspire for their child to be one.

Anyone got a 130mm 1" quill stem they're not using? Ideally, I'd be looking at as large a negative drop as possible, -25 degree pista stem kind of thing (it's for a track bike that's a little too tall for my liking!)

Yup, got that - the “if you’re fast” thing was because I’m guessing the spaces for non-vets would go on LTS times, like any other TT? (Depends on how many non-vets applied to ride, and how many spaces there were, I suppose!)

Just taken a closer look: seems like the VTTA events are just preference to vets, so you’ll have a good chance of a ride if you’re fast. ECCA look like a closed shop though.

Just looking at the 2019 calendar. Anyone know if the ECCA/VTTA events on the E2/10 are strictly for those members, or if they'll let non-affiliated riders in if the event doesn't fill up? Would love to ride that course this year, but the Lea Valley opens clash with track racing.

Hoy Fiorenzuola was awesome - great value and with perfect track geo (steep seat angle, low headtube - almost like TT bike geo but without the slack headtube angle) and stiff as hell. They don’t make them anymore unfortunately, but if you could find one second hand, that’d be my pick.

If not, Dolan TC1’s a great choice - geo’s slightly less aggressive than trad track geo, but that may be better for you!

Mudguards gone!

(SOLD) Immaculate set of black Sugino SG75 DD cranks (165mm) with BB and 51t Zen chainring. Been sat on my girlfriend’s bike in the garage but she’s given up riding track. Probably only ridden 3 or 4 times. £200

(SOLD) SKS longboards (45mm). Unused. £15 tried fitting to my bike but it doesn’t have the clearance.

Just had a thought. If you bought a set of replacement PDW tabs for the QR mount (seen here: https://ridepdw.com/collections/fenders/products/eyelet-set?variant=24829600001#) could those effectively convert any mudguard set to non-mount compatible (assuming you get creative with the mount on the seat tube)? Guessing there's a reason some-one hasn't done this before, though.

CAAD12 disc would be a good shout if you can stand the BB30. Got a CAAD10 after having fancy aero carbon bikes and I actually prefer it!

I'm weird: I run a standard 53x39 up front with an 11-32 on the back. Why? Because I bought a new frame with BB30, had that chainset lying about in the garage and money was tight. It's the mullet of the gearing world: business at the front, party at the back.

It’s not a permanent conversion otherwise I would! All getting put back together for the National 25 in a couple of weeks.

Here’s how it’s looking right now (chain slack because i’ve cut the chain for 1t more on the front) Riveted on front mech hanger’s a bit weird. Just assumed it was removable.

Interesting... Only chaing tugs I've got to hand are BMX ones, which place the screws directly onto the dropout, which isn't ideal.

It's kind of important as I'll be doing a proper standing start on one. Think I'll just have a play seeing what the minimum torque is where the wheel doesn't slip.

So I'm finally getting round to turning my P3 into a pursuit bike tomorrow. Got all the bits, all seems straight forward. One thing though: do I need to be wary of how tight I crank up the nuts on the rear wheel? I'm a little gunshy considering they're just carbon fibre!

@ExCameramanJim Yup - will be fine. I’ve used it with a D300 (same generation as D80) and a D810. As @Tonts said, all Nikon lenses work on all Nikon bodies. Some of the really old manual focus ones, you have to manually change the aperture on the ring, but they still work fine even on current pro bodies.
