I had patella-femoral dysfunction for a while, which sounds similar. Basically the muscles pulled the kneecap out of line, so it didn't slide smoothly over the joint.
This was a while ago now, but I went to a GP, who gave me a referral to a physio. They gave me a load of exercises to do and those sorted it out.

Kind of considering doing a TT on my Planet X Tor next year. Been doing them on an adapted Felt AR1, so the position on the Tor is way better.
A question though, as I'll have to change the forks to standard road forks to fit a brake (although I'm not even sure if they'll fit due to the weird cut out), how would that affect the geo/handling? Got some spare forks from a Boardman Air in the garage that'll do the trick.
They're not on the PX site anymore, but I'm pretty sure this is the same frame for the geo details (I'm on the L size with the 57cm TT): http://www.fixedgear.london/products/london-fixed-gear-track-bike-carbon-pista

Deda Pista stem for sale, 130mm, 70 degree angle, cheapest online price is £35, so we'll call it £25. Would also consider a swap for 90mm stem with similar value/condition/drop angle
Great stems these! Stiff as hell, massive drop for a super-aggressive position (or compensating for a stupidly tall headtube…)
Brand new in box, completely unused. Pick up from SE1 during the daytime, or SE15 in the evenings.

There are plenty of frames to hang bikes from in the track centre. Wouldn't worry about locking it, but you can if you want.
