Heads up; just picked up some Portra 400 35mm from Carmarthan Cameras for a reasonable price of £43. Came back in stock today too.

Yea this too, the difference is huge and I expect most people could differentiate between 35mm and MF with ease. It all depends on what the purpose is.

I previously had a Mamiya 7. Its a brilliant camera, its fairly compact for MF and the optics are superb. Despite this, I myself downsized to an M6 for the same reasons you've stated - wasn't using it enough, weight & size. If I had the budget i'd absolutely have kept it alongside my M6, but I didn't and I don't really miss it. I admit that I occasionally miss the capabilities of medium format, and I'd love to one day own a Hasselblad, but then I question how much id use that too.

I like how portable my M6 is, its compact, reliable and it just works. I can shove it in my bag and not really know its there. I get 36 exposures vs 10 which is nice too. Maybe its worth going down the same route? Anyway, you can't go wrong with a Mamiya 7, its a nice camera.

In conclusion, I have itchy feet and always consider switching cameras thinking it will somehow force me to step outside more. Im trying to focus on taking pictures regardless of the thing in my hand!

Where do people buy there film from? Im looking for a 5 pack of 135mm Portra 400. Is Amazon the best bet? Is there anywhere in London that can compete on price?

Thank you for your input! Zeiss has a good reputation for lenses so I think I'll be in safe hands. Don't suppose you've tried the 35mm f2?

How does it handle for you?

So I'm looking to get a lens for my M6, preferably 35mm. I'm trying to decide between:

Summarit 2.5
Voigtlander 1.4 Nokton
Voigtlander 1.7 Ultron
Zeiss Biogon f2.8

Obviously the Summitar is the most expensive of the lot given its Leica glass, but does anyone have any experience with any of them?

I have 21 rolls of Portra 400 120 film that is excess to my needs. All packaged in their foil, all expiring 03/2020. I don't have the boxes for them though!

Anybody looking for some? Would prefer to sell as a job lot but happy to split into packs of 5/10/21
