Went away in the camper, not sure that was the best idea as I forgot it was bonfire night, but luckily we found fairly quiet spots where there wasn't too much noise. Really don't know why we can't just have the silent fireworks. Seen far too many videos of dogs/pets getting super stressed with all the noise.

Fredstable fell asleep with his face squashed on my clean laundry. Woke up with such a silly face with his lip stuck on his teeth. Had a couple of weeks where he seemed determined to injure himself; ran into some barbed wire, punctured his side on something, then had an argument over a ball with another whippet and added more wounds to his side. They do have ridiculously thin skin.
He is certainly mellowing as he approaches his 2nd birthday, even the cat will greet him now with headbutts. -
I use a pawfit, GPS signal is pretty good, I like the app and it's a nice neat device. Their customer service is great too. Had a faulty device and as soon as I'd sent them proof of postage they sent a new one out and I got it the next day. If you decide to go for one of these I can send a discount friends referral thingy.

My loveable idiot whippet, Freddie. Far from perfect, but who is? Need to go back to basics with recall as his teenage ears have definitely gone deaf to me calling him back. He will end up in trouble one day with his bounding up to other dogs as he wants to play. So, back on lead till he learns to come back when called! Its probably my fault, had a lot on recently so training has gone out the window. Still, he is a good dog, friendly to most dogs, though seems to have taken a dislike to golden retrievers so some reason. He loves a good snooze & despite the awful puppy stage (like a velociraptor x kangaroo) he gets on well enough with the cat. So glad I have him, I'd be a mess if it wasn't for the annoying beast.

This one is growing so fast! We have good days and bad, he can be such a little velociraptor at times, leaping at you and biting but it's getting better. After weeks of a bad belly which delayedhis second vaccinations, which resulted in us having to restart, we discovered he has an allergy/intolerance to chicken. We can finally get round to positive reinforcement with treats.
Gigi is doing well, with him when he is calm, but he gets a bashing when he gets all giddy. We will get there. -
I swear that this one is a kangaroo crossed with a velociraptor. Tuesday was horrific, but the last couple of days have been much better. I'm looking forward to not being paranoid about his puppy bones breaking and him actually responding to his name. It's slow, exhausting progress. There are even nose boop moments with Gigi.

We have made a barrier between bathroom/bedroom and the rest of the boat. There have been hisses from Gigi but nothing worse yet. She is still using her tray and is curious about the new thing. Sits outside his crate when he sleeps and I give her a fuss. She is unsure, but we are trying to distract Freddie from her so she becomes uninteresting, at least that's the theory from puppy training stuff.

Anyone else's cat shout at them when they try to leave home? After working from home for the past few months if I leave the boat this one runs after me and just shouts. She is also obsessed with the laptop when we have our weekly team meeting so is now a regular at them. It would certainly be lonely all day without her.

Enjoying the Macclesfield canal as part of the Cheshire ring. Been interesting so far, scorching hot, first load of locks to tackle, the weedhatch has been cleared on an almost daily basis, barely slept through a terrific thunderstorm & had to mop out the engine room after all the rain. But I'm loving it.
@ioreka that is a beautiful boat! I'd have no idea what to do with all that space, not that a widebeam is much use round here. Hope it goes to a good home. -

This nightmare has learnt to paw at the blinds to wake us up. 7:30 this morning, what a joy. Now the weather is nice she also demands to go out for a run up and down the pontoon like a possessed thing. Discovered that she loves digging in the container on the roof where we are attempting to grow courgettes, even caught her pooping in it once so we have attempted to Gigi proof it.
She gets so excited when we leave the boat for a walk and she gets some time alone.

Gigi enjoying her favorite pastime of shredding paper. This week I learnt something new about cats. She has been doing her usual throw herself to the floor & shout until you give her a belly rub, but with added puffy tail. I always thought this meant they were getting defensive, but it also means they are happy/excited of they are purring too. Cats...strange beasts.

@ChasnotRobert He is about 12-18 months old, not known exactly due to being found as a stray. He has grown quite a lot in the 3 months the rescue has had him.
He is in Northwich, Cheshire from tails animal rescue. He is gorgeous. Proper loving despite his past. Loves playing with his toys, intrigued by what you are up to and knows where the cat treats are.
If we knew that Gigi would accept another cat I would have brought him home, with no doubt. -
Here is the little fella that I wanted to adopt, the other half put his foot down.
So my mission is to now help the charity by taking better photos so that they can get them adopted by their forever home. It is a small contribution compared to the amazing fosterers but they seem very happy of the help, no matter how small. Makes me so sad to hear that black cats are always overlooked, to me they are the best. Fingers crossed my efforts help Bronn find his forever home.

I agree, I'm not a fan of fireworks myself, but know that it would be wishful thinking to get the masses not to use them. At least the silent kind wouldn't cause all the noise stress.
