Possible, but I doubt it. The speed of this attack caught everyone by surprise, even the rebels. They started a 'counter-attack' 12 days ago and are now walking around the presidential palace in Damascus!
I think the HTS guy is trying to be as pragmatic as possible though, and not aggravate Israel, the west or Russia for the moment, so is making all the right noises, promising to keep Russia's bases intact etc. Everyone is just trying to digest what happened and get their bearings.

His face was caught on CCTV at the hostel the night before the shooting, so he could have been wearing something else, carrying a different backpack etc.
The guy had done a fair bit of planning and was pretty competent, but seems to have made a few errors that mean he'll probably get caught in a few days, so probably not a professional.

More Thames Water news:
Embattled Thames Water has received a £5bn bid from Covalis Capital.
Covalis plans to provide about £1bn of the funds upfront and raise a further £4bn from sales of the struggling water company’s assets.
I never understand how this works with acquisitions. So they are only putting in £1bn, then raising the other £4bn by selling the assets that they just bought?
Another example that springs to mind is when Glazer purchased Man United. Paid about £800million, but most of it was loans secured against the asset he was purchasing. So he put in very little money himself, and the club found itself with an extra ~£800m of debt as soon as the deal was done. Weird.

He's got a whole host of experts working for free in exchange for a chunk of BTC if he ever recovers it. Lawyers, data recovery experts, he even hired the ex Head of Waste Management at the council, to pinpoint the location in the tip it was most likely to be.
I think he mentioned that he thinks about that drive every single day of his life, so he may as well spend that time trying to get it back.

I'd second the Newhaven - Dieppe ferry, but not sure about sleeping in the children's soft play area! They also have an early morning ferry which gets into Dieppe around 2pm.
The Greenway towards Paris is around 100km on an old railway track, so traffic free and a really lovely ride. It drops you out into some lovely country lanes, so you can skirt Rouen and head back towards Caen to get some coastal action.
