Saw X+Y last night at the LFF. Great British film about a young maths genius with Aspergers going to compete in the International Math Olympiad. Sally Hawkins plays his single mum. The young kid is played by Asa Butterfield, awesome performance. He's going to be a star, if he isn't already.

Nebraska

Sweet, if slow moving film about an old man with near dementia who tries to get to Nebraska to claim $1,000,000 that he thinks he won in a marketing promotion. Some very funny moments, lots of insight into family life in the middle of nowhere. Makes me never want to go to Nebraska. 6.5/10

I only invested a small amount so not that bothered about SEIS. Personally (selfishly) I would say carry on as there is at least some small hope that things could turn around and I could still become rich.

But it sounds like quitting and getting yourself back into a decent paying job is probably the smarter option for you.

Ace movie. Based on a Patricia Highsmith novel, who also wrote Talented Mr Ripley. Similar sort of Americans doing the med in 1950/60's vibe. Saw it at the BFI, then they had a Q&A with Kirsten Dunst, Oscar Isaac and Viggo afterwards.

Kirsten was a bit dim, but Viggo is a dude.

Apparently the Weatherspoons that opened recently has greatly improved the lunch options in the area. I had a fairly acceptable salmon with chilli noodles. 6/10.

Watched Calvary the other night. Really dark stuff, the writer/director must seriously hate the catholic church. Great movie.

Then watched Starred Up last night. Brutal. What an absolute nutter that kid is! Jack O'Connell and Ben Mendelsohn are excellent. Prison is my worst nightmare. I wouldn't last a day.
