I started a new job in August. I’ve never been to the office or met anyone in real life.
I’d largely say I’ve also found it to be awesome. No awkward introductions as you’re parades through the office or any of that. The onboarding stuff where they give you a stack of crap to read was much more bearable sat on my sofa.
Some people emailed me to set-up ‘virtual coffees’ (lol) which actually were quite good so tried setting up some of my own which everyone who I asked very happily obliged.
I also had people keep telling me that it must be so difficult starting a new job remotely but honestly it’s been fantastic. Although that may just be the awesomeness of WFH completely skewing my perspective.

Thanks.
Excellent - I've already got the Logitech Master mouse so just ditched one of the mouses! I always thought the buttons underneath were for different mouse sensitivities.
I've got my speakers connected to my main monitor via an audio jack which seems to work when I switch computer inputs.
If I got a cheap USB mic and webcam with something like this below, would sort out the rest?

Does anyone have a solution to my two keyboards and two mice problem?
I’ve got my work laptop and home computer connected to the same monitor and have keyboard and mouse for each. I’ve haven’t got biggest desk so it’s taking up a lot space at the moment.
Is there a good way connecting both so that I can easily switch between the two? Annoyingly, all of the keyboards and mice are wireless. Similarly it would be nice to have them connected to the same audio output, headset and webcam so that I can close the lid of my laptop.
I’ve looked at the software solutions and they’re a bit expensive and I doubt work would approve it.

Yeah certainly done of this and definitely one of the net positive things about working from home — I’ve slept in toilets at work during lunch before when I’ve been really tired.
I’ve just started a new job from home - been unemployed/a student for the last year. Any suggestions? I’ve read upthread but was hoping someone might be able to add a little more now with lots of people have 7 months WFH experience

I wore a 'speed' suit for both TCRs and I would do it again. I was very lucky and my club did them very cheaply - sorta £50ish which compared to a bibshort/jersey combo is very good.
Pros:
Pretty comfortable - the pressure is distributed evenly and you don't get any chaffing from the bib shorts (not that I ever experienced that)
You save 5 seconds every day putting on one item of clothing
Aero gainzNeutral
I had a front zipped speed suit so going for a number one was easy as with bib shorts. Going for a number was probably easier
You don't get too much space in your jersey pockets but I could still fit 3 coke bottles and some chocolate bars - although this might benefit as I tended to not to use jersey pockets for heavy things alleviating some weight on my back which for a long-distance event is key. That being said - I did adopt a drawstring bag to really stock up on food just before going on into the night, I think Bjorn did the same!Cons
Flexibility in attire - you're kinda wearing one minging thing the entire time but that's part of the experience and every 2 or 3 days I would jump into a hotel shower and use all of the soap they had to give it a quick clean then whack on a radiator or something.Overall - if I were to do it again, I'd use shorts or a speed suit again. Shorts has the advantage of being able to cycle topless (with suncream of course) which is kinda a nice experience with minimal heckles

Just watched both Sicarios.
The first one (2015) is a really nice thriller with some good performances, especially from Emily Blunt. I thought about skipping the second one (2018) as I’d heard some pretty mixed reviews. It’s poor but still enjoyed it. It’s basically Josh Brolin saying ‘this time, there are no rules’ + some shooting and helicopter shots.

Okay - I've got my old desktop PC (about 10 years). What should I do with it? I'm struggling to give it away. I don't really have the space for it as a reserve but I've got a reserve laptop which is much more practical.
How to dispose of it? Take it apart and drill through the hard-drive?
Any fun things to do with it? I was tempted to use it to turn my TV into a smart TV but the computer makes a pretty loud buzzing sound.

Has anyone had any experience with Nike Returns? They say they’re happy to take trainers that you’ve run in. I ordered a pair of Nike Trail 2 (which I think are brilliant) but they’re a size too big. I’ve now run a muddy 50km over the last week in them - is there a chance they won’t accept the return?
