Thanks folks - I’m calming down and I’ve found my long johns.
Thanks @Airhead I had no idea it was potentially a consumable part, that’s really interesting.

Anglian actually did a good job - their sales approach almost prevented any sale from happening - but the fit and workmanship was quick and tidy. One tiny hiccup that they resolved without question within a day. All at a quarter of the price of the more upmarket options… oh and they sort scaffolds etc as part of the price.

Long time fan of DaKine high roller - but have heard good things about the DB bags.
They do come in lengths, but I wouldn't worry too much about getting 'exactly the right' fit - as long as it'll fit of course.
Cram it all in and pray? As a student trying to get past the 'one bag' coach limitations, definitely. As an adult using a plane? No way. Have a bag of sports kit (boots, board etc), and a bag with your other sundries. Much more manageable around airports and won't bump you into overweight fees territory.
Airlines get picky? unlikely you'll hit restrictions, but worth checking the airlines sport kit policy when you book...

Very much so. but (begrudgingly) it's really worth it.
If you want images drop me a DM - I redid our kitchen floor at the weekend after abusing it for a few years & used their exterior stuff on our front door...

Bloody hell. Same chopper. Fairly tall, glasses, dressed head to toe in black?
Came up the inside of me in the segregated section. I'd drifted very slowly across to the middle lane because it was obvious the cyclist ahead of me was about to turn slow / turn left. He aggressively rang his bell, then barged through a gap not even a seasoned CX racer would take - when I caught him his whattaboutery was 'you'd have looked if you were in a car not pulled out', squarely missing the point that in a car that would have been an accident with him at fault [even if looking was the issue]. Then proceeded to jump a few lights, cut up two cyclists before I lost him...
Credit to him, unreal self confidence / belief in his righteousness. I was a bit taken aback by his insistence it was my fault.
