@Lukas Ah it was just made from a bit of spare aluminium - just wanted to neaten it off a bit. I just slapped some black paint on with a brush but at some point I'll paint it properly when I'm finished painting the frame.

So I swapped to a road crank and I used a 'Wolf Tooth' chainring. It's offset so as to reduce the chainline. With FC-9000 it gives a chain line of 47.5mm (normally it's ~51mm for the outer ring) which is perfect for me as the WI freewheel is also 47.5mm. If you went down that road I guess 47.5mm would be close enough to work with a standard (~42mm) fixed chain line?

Well the saddle bag I have on is lime, looks good with the purple I think. Changed the chainset to DA 9000 now to match the brakes. I thinking I'm going to put "Dolan" on the downtube, then just my name on the toptube near the seat post. I could be persuaded to go for black, certainly it's between lime, black and silver. I need to find someone making decals I guess!
I actually painted two FXE's, the other has all gold stuff on it :P It's metallic purple then a few layers of lacquer with purple flake in. The fork is an old Easton one, the other FXE is just standard. Just painting up my track bike (pre cursa) using some of that colour changing metallic paint. Then I'm going to add my name along the downtube in either Black or Silver. I've painted the bars (scattos) gloss black.

Well the bottle cage bolts are there to add a bit of colour (hard to see but they're green), at some point I'm fitting a green bottle cage. Was out over the weekend, but really not getting on with the hoods of these levers (SRAM S900), probably going to put my old Tekro 340's back on.
What decals should I add, shame you can't get Dolan ones in fluoro green to go with the cables!

Hard to photograph, but I've painted my FXE with purple metallic flake paint :D
It needs a more exciting chainset I think though. I have a DA 9000 somewhere I'm going to try, hopefully the chain line will be ok to use it.Details...

If @vilms5000 doesn't take the skewer for any reason, I will :)

In the end I saw that the FXE has replaceable dropouts which I'd quite like so I ordered another one to be safe. Dolan are looking at the pictures, but I think I probably just got worried about nothing.
I have already shot blasted and primed it now so if they say it's ok I'll probably just rattle can it some weird colour and build it up.

I had a 56t handy :-P The chainset uses Hollowtech II and already had a 2.5mm driveside spacer so can't really alter the chainline, but I've swapped it now to a 49t and smaller cog so that'll be fine.
Should be able to get a photo in the morning. I'd estimate (from memory, so extra accurate!) it's about 0.5mm depth of a gouge?

Posted this in the Dolan thread but then decided it's probably better here...
Was washing my FXE before repainting it and I noticed that the 56t chainring I was using has worn through the paint and to some extent the metal of the chainstay. Does anyone know how thick the chainstay walls are - I'm just trying to work out if the chainstay is going to explode and kill me...

Final sneak peak before the grand reveal today or tomorrow!
Paint is all cured now and I'm just building her up. The camera doesn't do the colour justice, it goes from deep purple to electric blue depending on the angle.
