Now that I've sold my track bike I'm thinking of ripping about town on one of these:

Any thoughts?

I bought this new from Tokyo Fixed 3 years ago. Since then it was used daily but since recently moving to suburbia it has been replaced.
Cosmetically the bike is as you would expect from being locked daily in the city with plenty light chips or scratches. The worst of which is a 1 inch scrape in the top tube and one of the brake levers is scratched. However, there are absolutely no dents or dings.
Mechanically it's in excellent condition. Recent service including brake pads, chain. 16t on back and both wheels were rebuilt.
Bike will come in commuter spec with race blades, there's a cateye wireless computer (needs batteries) but no pedals (will stick some basic flats on). There is a small tear in the gonzo saddle but it's so comfy I never replaced it. Can include a brand new Madison prime if needed.

Would prefer collection SW16 or can meet central after next weekend.

Two weeks of daily exercises later I have enough shoulder strength and range to get on my bicycle for the first time in 8 weeks! It felt so good! So happy with my shoulder. A cheeky trip to my lbs then an trip to Richmond park to do one lap :) just shy of 20 miles today.
That's just the kind of news I need. Well done!

Has it helped?
Definitely. I have been going every couple of days.
No swimming per se just an hour of physio exercises and stretching. Has hurt like hell for the rest of the day if I've overdone it, but feels much better the next day. Quite scary to see how little rotation I have.
Well done for being back on the bike. Must be fabulous. Docs reckon I have another 6/7 weeks to go.
Reckon I will be riding very defensively for a while!

I had similar issues when I had an off at the beginning of June. I keep my lock at work so the ambulance staff were unable to take the bike in the ambulance with me. The police at the scene essentially knocked on doors to find someone who was willing to store my bike.
Worked out ok in the long run thanks to a very generous local business (who kept it stored safely for nearly two weeks until I could collect it) but not an ideal situation.
Hope you recover quickly Jon, sounds awful.

Absolutely not recommending this but i was self medicating with a very fine single malt on the nights when i couldn't get to sleep. Very soporific synergy with the codeine too...
In other news, after 8 months since the accident, apart from the battle mark of a lumpy collarbone and the odd twinge in the join which very well may be psychosomatic, I am starting to get back to the level of strength and fitness i had before the break (and I'm not really training as such, just commuting). So to anyone feeling down about the restrictive nature of the injury, rest assured it will all be behind you soon.
First decent nights sleep in a long time! (with some assistance).
Still swinging back and forth between desperation to get back on the bike and thinking of chucking it in (especially with a young family to support).
Although the thought of 3 hours a day on public transport is dreadful
After many false promises I finally got back on the commute this morning.
Took it very easy and I have forgotten how intense it feels riding in heavy traffic.
Shoulder good, fitness awful.
Mentally it feels great to be back.
