Did you pick yours up in the UK? They're like hens teeth!
I've had both kids on the back of my Big Dummy and that pedals just fine, can't really do much of a hill with them on there though
Electrifying it is definitely a consideration, would make local errands a less sweaty affair! But I also have my eye vaguely on a Tern GSD. They seem to be almost as practical but with a smaller form factor

That looks like fun although it'll be the full length of my tiny garage, which is already absolutely rammed full of man stuff, including 6 bicycles and a motorbike
Plus longer means there's definitely no chance of getting through the chicane type gate near me. My Big Dummy with the side rails just fits through, literally about an inch spare

I have 3 kids so Bullitt is out, which is a real shame as I love the way they look. And superb for odd shaped cargo
I've not seen two kids on a Bullitt, only 1 or 1+another small one. My older two are nearly 8 and 7
Mind you, with those two on my Big Dummy there isn't really much load carrying room anyway I suppose!

Love the look of the Bullit, more than the Omnium (sorry Omnium owners)
Three problems for me
1 - can't carry primary school kids very well
2 - can't fit in my garage
3 - can't get through the barriers on the cheeky footpath shortcut I have near my house, which are how I get anywhere in that direction by bikeSo longtail cargo for me. But the Bullit looks great for taking a young baby on!

The follow me tandem does look good. I had one on my radar till I picked up a Big Dummy. I can now stick their bike on that if there's a problem
Does anyone know of any good trailers that attach to a seat post or pannier, rather than an axle. When my 6 week old gets bigger I'd like to stick her in a trailer. I had a double trailer for my kids and it was ace but it's long gone now. Only need a single trailer. But I'd like to tow the trailer with the Big Dummy and it's not possible to use an axle mount due to the U Tubes on the side. There's a chance I'll tow the trailer on my other bikes as well, like on holidays, so mounting to those too would be good, but for local stuff it's likely to be the BD. Have some time before it's needed but means I can keep an eye out for a bargain

Loving this thread
I have three dad bikes at the moment
My Arkose commuter has a rack and I have a rack mount seat for it. Can also have someone sitting on the rack for short trips. Has been used to a tow a double trailer many times too
Brompton has an IT chair, fantastic dad bike. Can jump on the tube or lob it in the boot. Really underrated but hard to pedal when they get older
Surly big dummy. Better for the older kids and generally getting around without too much faff. Long though, and quite wide. Will just fit between the restrictions on the cut through near me, I use the cut through a lot
First two are able to be carried in or on the car so have been taken on holidays.
Third is too big for that but it's also my plan to not getting a second car

I have the Brompton IT chair on my brompton, without question the best upgrade for my brompton. It's fantastic. My 6 year old son just fits on it, a little heavy for any inclines with my 3 gears as you can't stand to pedal. Works great with my 5 year old daughter, did a couple of trips with her on sunday involving public transport too - no other cycling combo could match that
Really recommend it, cycling with your kids is one of life's great joys

Chris, are they still available? Don't want to step on someone's toes (I thought they'd gone but you message implies they haven't...)
I can pick up tomorrow evening or Thursday evening if so (and will definitely give you some beer). I could probably pick up tonight depending on when you're around. I work in Holborn
I need to stick some flat pedals on one of my bikes and these will be perfect!

I used a different double trailer, can't remember which one now, but similarish
It's definitely not as good, build quality wise, as the more expensive ones but it'll let you ride just as much as the more expensive ones
I modified my one slightly to make it comfier, I put more support under the seat using blankets and polystyrene and I put a piece of thick carpet on the floor. This made it much warmer than the original design and the kids would turn the trailer into a furnace. In the winter they'd go in there with their drinks and snacks and chill out then fall asleep. I'd ride around with the dog towing them along. They'd sleep comfortably for about an hour. When I got home I'd open the flap and the heat coming out of it was incredible
Many fond memories of towing the kids along. Now have a cargo bike to put the kids on, my commuter with a rack that I can take someone on, and a Brompton with the IT chair to carry someone.
There are few greater joys than cycling around with your kids!
