There is a pin with a 3mm hex head that fits these nicely. I think they are Aztec or Hayes. Will check workshop box tomorrow.

First photos are of recent drop out repair that a customer wanted done. I wasn't that set on it but customer was happy and we shipped it to Altitude in the Waterford.

Second bike is the 'perfect' example I was going to buy until I saw the non drive side chainstay damage.

Yes agree, user error is the factor.

I almost pulled the trigger on one last month that was listed as perfect until I asked for detailed photos on chainstays.

The one below in in my sights and is local at the minute. With potenza groupset but rims are dead. Bike is in excellent condition. Not 100% sold on colourway.

There are a few for sale but nothing in a great colourway or good condition. The dropouts also wear in that vintage on supersix and you often see tyre wear marks in the inside on the chainstays.

Another vote for in correct end cap.

Looks similar to the 'gates' on the Kinesis tripster. A new plate would solve your issue, one with a stop end for a gear ferrule?

If so send dimensions on the old gate and I'll check my spares box tomorrow.

I was on the road to pick it up today. Guess lesson learned to pay up front. Enjoy it.

Lots off different things could be wrong here so more questioning.

Is the frame brand new?
This frame tube door looks like it could be for the rear hydro hose, where does the rear hose enter the frame?
Did the frame come with any extra 'doors'?

Also what year is the frame as the newest one I can see online seems to have ports brazed on for the cables.
