I really hate the feeling of loose/plasticky focus rings like the 1.8 has.
I know that feel, bought a Canon 1.8 50mm prime off the bay for cheaps, and the quality is reflected in the pics...so bought the Canon 1.4 prime for $300...better glass=better pics
But photography, like bikes, can quickly drain your finances.

after more than a week of waiting for the straps to arrive, and long hours at work, I decided to take the V12s off my commuter and get out on the road.
Went for a 30km ride, with a backpack carrying some tools (just in case) and a camera.first impressions...super smooth, super quiet and such a good fit...48/17 takes a bit to get going but definitely cruises nice...ok so I only did 30kms, but in 68 mins, including general red lights and such, hit a top speed of 54kms.
brand new Re-fuse on the back got a deep cut...must have been some shrapnel on the road, will keep an eye on it.
I know the MTB flats are an abomination on this frame, but I had to get a ride in today.happy :)

Anyone recommend some straight blade 1" track forks in either carbon or steel
cheap and cheerful http://allcitycycles.com/products/big_block_track_fork

on my way home from work last night, stopped at a red light and I see a hipsterSkidfixter come to the intersection from the left, waiting to turn right...he slows...goes into a trackstand...and then promptly falls over without being able to clip out.
Needless to say I thought this quite humourous, as did the people on the pub balcony that witnessed Mr Tightpants' hilarious attempt for a "like a boss" recovery to maximum cool before going straight across the now red light and past me.the full bag
