I actually picked up a pair as they were so cheap. Granted as people have said heavy for low profile rim, but 1500 is still a good weight regardless. Mainly picked them up as I have a set of vision aluminium 35s and they are so good, wouldn't consider them if they weren't vision Plus want to try carbon rim + tubular.

So I ordered from Wiggle yesterday, and picked the next day delivery thinking it would be trusty Royal Mail. Turns out it's this DX bollocks and currently waiting for my parcel with not a lot of hope I must say. Why do big companies insist on using these terrible courier services, that with a quick google search have more of chance of losing my parcel than actually delivering it.

Speaking of Canyon.
Seems to have stolen the headtube from the Aeroroad, otherwise not much changing:

Can't tell if you were dissing the DeRosa but I recently bought a R838 and I absolutely love it. But I bought it from my LBS with a discount and upgraded wheels for less than the RRP so it was a win win for me, I got to support my good friend and local shop and I love the brand as a whole. Though I would heartily agree that on a budget Canyon (Or the DeRibble) is the absolute best choice.

The Pina and Cinelli I posted earlier were taken off a Bike radar post, coincidentally even the guys at Bike radar weren't appreciative of the ridiculous stems on those bikes , not to mention the massacre of that Cinelli. Needless to say if you fancy a good read, the guy didn't take too kindly to his bikes being scorned : http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=13030616

Very doubtful it's a fake. If anything the price could perhaps be cheaper considering it's a 6 year old bike at the least, £3000 or not that's a lot of potential use. http://road.cc/content/review/3819-colnago-clx-centaur

Wow good luck mate, that's some serious riding. I remember doing the DD for the first time I didn't struggle with the physical aspect, my legs just switched to Auto after 50 miles, but I found it difficult to deal with being on a bike for so long. I mean that's only 120+50ish to Ipswich, and I don't do long rides all the time, nothing compared to this though. Have you thought about ways to keep yourself entertained? Or are you just going to use stray bears as motivation?
Also you mentioned the live-tracking, is that through a garmin/phone combo? I'm sure it's somewhere in this thread but I am lazy :)

Can't beat preowned for price, but this is the cheapest you'll find them online new :http://www.handtec.co.uk/satnav-gps/cycling-gps.html About £110 for the 500 and £170 for the 510

+1 for 6800, got the option to go Di2 now or later. Force is lighter by about 100g or something, there is a thread on WW if you care about that kind of thing.
At the end of the day:"They're all great. Ride the brand that you are comfortable with in terms of hood shape, appearance and shifting mechanism."

Funnily enough I am also considering a road bike build around £2000 - £2.5k. Personally I think the biggest contenders are Cervelo and Canyon, you absolutely cannot beat Canyon for good value against performance, and Cervelo have got some good pedigree/reviews.
I'm probably going to get a Fondriest TF3 as a complete wildcard due to the fact that I've ridden one and a good friend/ex-boss of mine owns a shop that sells them so I'll get a good deal.
Would be interested to see what you go for.
Well I've only had them for the summer so can't really comment on long term use, but have ridden them in the rain and they are just as good. One thing I must say the vision hubs are freaking spectacular. Spin for dayzzz. As mentioned bought some Vision carbon tubs off Planet X so will be using the alus as winter wheels.
