I can not sneak in and do more sadly. They are becoming very strict now. And I have done quite a few private projects there so they are always very suspicious when I show up.
There is another laser cutting service, but they would charge around 80 pounds for the mdf bits. Then you'll have to factor in the metal bits, packing and shipping etc.
I have designed a reference stick that is cut from 2mm hdf. I'd like to avoid having to cut 2 different thicknesses so that have to be addressed too.I solved the stability problem by screwing another piece of wood into the sliding towers feet from the underside of the base plate.
And, yes, the wheel holding forks will be replaced with metal.I have access to a laser cutter so i'd only need the file, would be awesome if you could post it at some point? :) also what software did you use for the design?

Quick update after having amassed most of the parts i needed:
Cranks and bottom bracket from howard, really kind bloke that went above and beyond to give me some cranks for this. Massive help.
44t chainring off ebay with a dita 18t freewheel and a sturmey archer 17t incase i want to change.
Also have a 1/8th chain somewhere that i'll fit once i have everything.
All thats needed now are some chainring bolts so i ordered some kcnc ones for maximum WW efforts, figured something decent should go on this bike.
Will start with the 44/18 (64 inches) to begin with and can always swap to the 17t or get a bigger/smaller chainring if need be. -

Quick update:
Spacer arrived and it looks very well machined;
Only things left now are cranks off Howard, chainrings possibly off ebay (anyone got any idea what these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shimano-Deore-LX-104bcd-26-36-48t-mountain-touring-bike-chainrings-/161209133309?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item2588d028fd would go for?) and freewheel off a friend. Does 48:18 sound alright for a mtb on road?

you don't need an adaptor, just to respace/dish your wheel.
shouldn't cost more than an ebay adaptor to do it.Would rather not as i have long term plans to make this a fixed (with bolt on cog where the disc brake is and new frame etc) when i have funds for it. And a 20quid adaptor is hardly breaking the bank so im not that bothered.
-
Be aware: That adapter is intended for a fixed cog - not a bmx freewheel.
all this means is there is less thread to screw the freewheel onto than is 'wise' - it will still work though - just.
The chain set is junk - the rings are not removable
Yes i had thought of that. Are there any freewheels that arent as wide or are they all the same width?
And yes will duly bin them, hopefully will be able to use Howard's cranks.

Ok so the chainset:
Its the triple crankset that was on the original bike and as you can see theres no hex bolts holding the chainrings to the cranks, just what looks like rivets. The only way i can see to remove them is with a tool that fits the centre of the inside of the crank, other than that I am stuck. Is there a way to remove them or do i need to just buy a whole new cranket? -

Right - Bless Google! I found my 5 year old thread!

Drew's adapter
Thats very helpful but I cant seem to find anywhere I might be able to buy one unfortunately. Will have to put the chainline issue on the backburner for a while whilst i sort out my cranks (will get onto that soon). Also does anyone know what tool I need to get the cassette off/a cheap place to buy one? Cheers for all the help.

Where are they a tenner? Only cheap ones i found on there are 20 quid
