Modulation up front, sharpness out back.
That's (partly) why I ran my street MTB with a V-brake on the fork, and a Magura HS33 on the frame. The levers on my flat green Pomp up there^^^^ are Tektro RL520s.
I chose them because I already had a perfectly good pair of full-sized Vs sitting around, and the RL520s were very cheap. I quite like them.Or it was for this reason, makes me seem much less like a cheapskate! Too late though, I've been outed now.
Thanks for letting me know about the levers, I see CRC do them for £17ish. I'll bookmark it for future reference. Any other drop levers that work well with full size Vs?
Cheers. Vlad

It's from the brain - after a while, you get used to it and stop noticing.
why on earth would you put canti front v rear? Just go full v.
COST. The bike came with Cantis - I want to get use out of them before replacing. They work well enough, never felt that I needed more braking power.
The only issue with the rear Canti is that the rack arms mounted on the pomp are very close together and as I said the yoke is rubbing between the rack arms when I apply the brake.
I got a mini V on a sale thread here for £6 - only one was for sale. I only needed one so I snapped it up. Simples.

Is that a full size V on the back? http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7426/10618438754_7cf1d212e4_o.jpg

Ah. Interesting. In fact I intend to put a mini V on the back - to aid with clearance for the rack arms. At the moment they are pinching the yoke something awful (paint scraping off) and something needs to be done about it.
How funked up (do you reckon) will the braking be with a canti on the front and a mini V on the back?

Hi all,

The condition is rather good, as expected from 1 week of riding.

Hi all,
For sale is this On-One Bignose saddle which retails at £20 - in WHITE
pics here:
https://plus.google.com/photos/116617087632977066797/albums/5991376615985080369For some reason the uploading of pics fails every time, I've got jpegs around 200KB. PM me for pics or something.
I want £10 for it.
It was fitted to a bike I bought from On-One. I've never ridden this saddle. On-One sent it to me with a couple of small scuffs on the underside. I never bothered to complain at them about it.

I hope you don't get offended, but please consider that the way your post is written, the whole thing sounds like a scam...
I'm not saying it IS a scam - just that it sounds like one and this may be the reason you're not getting a response...
I live in Peckham and could potentially do it, but you really need to post up more details than that...

hey people,
on a serious note, I have been trawling through the thread a bit and found that the wishbone stays on the current/old pompino are being termed "Dekerf stays".
I then googled dekerf and found that it's some sort of small company that makes high quality frames, and has moved into the custom frame business in recent years.
So - I'm a bit confused, what are those chainstays doing on a budget steel frame such as the pompino? And I can only assume that the stay design is under licence from dekerf and made by on-one? Although obviously they no longer wish to carry on with it, too expensive?
Either way, does anyone know more about this, can someone enlighten me? I get the feeling that I don't have the full picture...
Cheers, Vlad

SOLD SOLD SOLD
Hello ladies and gents.
For sale we have a Nitto Technomix Deluxe Stem, 26.0mm clamp, 50mm reach.Note this is one of the tallest stems on the market, the total height is 190mm, which obviously has a min insertion mark - there's a solid 110-115mm above the min insertion mark.
Never been fitted, this item is completely brand new.
Pickup in Peckham (or SE1/London Bridge) much preferred, but will post at buyer's expense.
Asking for £30 (seeing as these fetch £40 at the cheapest)
Alternatively, we can do some kind of part ex deal on some good quality 1/8" cogs and/or chainrings. I need large cogs (18+ T) and/or small (44- T) chainrings. -
I am now the proud owner of a Pompino in white. I'm boring enough to have written a post about it too! http://www.bicycleslondon.co.uk/new-bike-on-one-pompino/
The TLDR version is that YES it has mudguards and YES it has a pannier rack because that's just how I roll. (pun intended)

Quick question - what lever would you recommend to use on a moustache handlebar that need to work on alhonga brakes (sidepull)
Basically I want a shortish lever to be used from the straight part of the on-one mungo handlebar pictured.
Cheers
Vlad
