Guys I've never ridden a fixed gear bike and want to get one for shortish commutes. Ideally something cheapish but light (i.e aluminium) and with decent components (sub £500) and from a retailer that accepts cycle plus vouchers?
I've done a bit of reading and can see Mango bikes, BLB, 6KU all seem to offer models around the £300-£500 range.
Also one that will work as a freewheel/flipflop hub etc.
Any help/suggestions appreciated. No doubt this question has been asked before?!!?

I need a gilet for a week in Tenerife in July which I'll use to descend down the volcano a few times.
Ideally, I'd like to borrow one perhaps for a deposit - but that may be asking too much - if anyone has one going spare I'd buy it, but I don't want to spend a lot as it's not a piece of kit I don't think I'll really ever use, even in winter - I've got base layers and a jacket that's good enough...
Welcome any suggestions...
Thanks
Joe

Hi Joe, yes it's been a mistake on my behalf. I purchased a bundle of parts and in all honestly didn't check they were all the same.
Completely my fault but i'd rather you of PM'd me first. Let me know how you want to sort this.
James
James1234 please sort this out.
I'd like a refund for the inners you've mistakenly sent me, all 6 of them that you didn't check before you packed them that all look completely different. Please confirm you're going to send the refund plus cost of postage pack to you for these inners which I don't want..
Thanks

Agree with this.
You'll definitely know if you've got a crap bike fit after sitting on it for 8 hours.
It will also become incredibly apparant either how good or how poor your clothing is you're wearing. In my case, the Steam Ride Audax - I was wearing a pair of Rapha Pro Bib shorts (RRP £150) - which turned out to be the WORST pair of bib shorts I've ever worn. Incredibly tight around the thighs to the point I was almost about to cut them. Promptly god rid of them after this.
Also, vibrations and the tape on your bike and the gloves you're wearing will all play a part - a really chatty bike and you'll start to regret it with another 2 hours to go, and having crap bar tape or no padding on your gloves - your hands start to get quite sore - especially if it's really hot weather..

James - you specifically said:
6x brand new 700x20-25c 42mm Continental tubes
What I got from you instead was
3 700x19-23c 42mm INNOVA tubes
&
1 CST Made in China 19/23 3.5cm inner tube
1 Cheng Shin Tube 25/32c 2.5cm inner tube
1 Bontrager 18/25 2.5cm inner tubeWhat's going on? Is this some sort of mistake? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt first to reply.
As it stands, I don't want any of these thank you very much, I'd like my money back.
Thanks
Joe

The crank has a slight chip on the left crank arm - so for this reason I'll drop the price down to £115...

I came off the bike on this and it has a bit of a scuff mark on the right hand shoulder and a couple of faint black lines on the front. Other than that, great condition and lovely to wear.

Cheers for the suggestions guys, I've ordered a Dolan PC fixed with wheels that have the brake track. Was gonna go for a polo and bike CMDR also but the dolan looks better. What's the opinion on P&C bikes?
