According to our website £180 for the whole frame and forks. But that is for the the bare frame, i.e paint stripped. Also bare one thing in mind about "electroless" Nickel. The finish you get after plating is the same as the finish prior to plating. i.e. if you have a shot blasted frame, you will end up with a satin Nickel colour. If you have a polished glossy frame, you will have a glossy Nickel finish. My bike was plated after stripping the original paint. This gave a somewhat brushed almost titanium like finish.
If we shot blasted the frame we could put a layer of electroplated copper on which would level and gloss the frame ready for the Nickel to give a glossy finish. Obviously this would be at a cost, I would have to check that up.

It depends on what type of Nickel is plated. The process we use is an "electroless" process, i.e. not electroplated. As a result the Nickel is plated as a Phosphorus alloy. We can control the amount of phosphorus alloyed with the Nickel. The level of phosphorus dictates the properties. The lower the phos phorus level the higher the hardness. But the higher level phosphorus offers better corrosion resistance. If you heat treat the Nickel you can increase the hardness to that of hard chrome. The pre-treatment regime dictates the adhesion of the plate to the surface you are plating on. The bike I have plated is high phosphorus Nickel and it is very difficult to chip off the Nickel through glancing knocks and blows. Obviously if you hit anything sharp the Nickel layer would be compromised. But certainly the Nickel is harder than powdercoat . I have just looked and powdercoat has a vickers hardness of about 20HV, as plated high Phos Nickel is about 450HV and hard chrome/heat treated Nickel is 1000HV. Hope this helps.

Forks were stripped of paint, they were a rough finish/shot blast so I decided to electroplate them copper instead of Nickel. Not sure how much it would be for copper plating but I can check.
