I just finished my Peregrine build last week. The current tyres are 55-622 Kendas, for the winter I'm planning on 47-622 Nokian W106's with mudguards.
Suprising difficulty with the build was finding a suitable front derailleur, my first XT one hit the rear tyre. Luckily I stumbled upon this older Deore LX model. This is one of the older frames without a bend in the chainstay, so most road cranks will not fit.
All in all it's an really amazing all-rounder bike, though bit on the heavy side.
