Lols.....
*More than 15m adults in Britain have poor numeracy - the equivalent of a G or below at GCSE maths
Almost three times as many UK adults (15.1m) have poor numeracy - the equivalent of a G or below at GCSE maths - than with poor literacy skills, according to the government's Skills for Life survey.
*Yes, poor literacy skills can be a bugger.

^^ Yeah. The "cycle training" thing to do would be to hang back but not everyone can ride 100% ideal 100% of the time .
Unfortunately, and I'm not saying you are doing this, but cycle training is often portrayed on here as nothing more than a dogma. Ed is well intentioned, and has the right idea, but, as many of us have pointed out to him before, he doesn't know when to shut up. He's not the only one, and this is not a personal dig at Ed, who I think is often unfairly maligned.
It's not a tenet of cycle training that every fucking incident has to be responded to with an explanation of what the rider could have done better. Cycle training does not exclude the possibility that people are just people and people sometimes get it wrong or that some police officers are just jumped-up little wankers who like to throw their weight around. -
Ah, I was thinking more about Michonne who decided that one little stab was enough.
On the bright side I suspect that baby Judith made it out alive. I have some sympathy with The Governor killing Hershel. I might have done the same myself just to stop Rick continuing with his speech. The man only has two voices - unconvincingly earnest or unconvincingly angry. -

Is THAT what they're doing?! Sorry if I'm being thick here, I always wondered what blokes were doing on the moped's with little mapped areas in front of them.
Wow, that's actually quite interesting despite the fact that the end result is next to useless for me.Oh for pity's sake. What did you think they were doing? Checking the accuracy of the Ordnance Survey? Retracing the steps of celebrity prostitutes? Lamp post spotting?
And you can see me in my office tomorrow to explain that apostrophe too. -
^ I agree with that. There's a lot of overkill and a lot of lumen-envy going on.
I worked an event recently where the number of cyclists with no lights on was far outweighed by the number whose front lights were so bright as to dazzle anyone unlucky enough to be in front of them. Beyond a certain point you don't get any more usefully visible and you just make life more difficult for other people. -

And as per the article above the author recommends hi-vis clothing but oddly you don't mention that. Still, it's everyone's prerogative to pick and choose which bit of expert testimony they choose to believe.
I doubt it makes any significant difference one way or the other and it's just another dismal sidetrack of a discussion.
