Bob update. It’s come on a work trip with me to make getting between the odd town and city a bit easier and a bit of light touring. It’s still awesome, and has been a great mothmobile for transporting samples about.

Fully loaded it’s a little ungainly and with all the weight on the back it feels a little “tail wagging the dog” when out the saddle but handling is still fine and really solid.

Either way it’s terrible for him, his family and the police who then had to make such a decision, whether they were right or wrong.

Fair. In this case, 6 members of his drill crew were charged with attempted murder for their part in it, and testified he shot him. 1 found guilty of possession of weapon and 2 GBH. There was apparently cctv too, of him doing so, but he wasn’t named in the trial for the most part, I assume due to the murder trial going on.

The police wouldn’t have known who they’d had pulled over during the stop, but another plausible case for him not stopping could been that he’d apparently shot Brendon Malutshi twice in the legs in the previous days and didn’t want to face attempted murder charges?

can vouch for matt riding almost exclusively through absolute slop, george - prob helps he's an excellent mechanic (with a shed to be envied). Can have a rummage for some gore ride on bits and bobs which might help and have a big tub of dura ace grease - might not deal with the salt though.

Well that’s good news! Maybe check edge whilst trying to deflect it to see if there’s a wire edge extruding from cutting surface?
Difficult to take pics down lens but here’s a new knife out the box at 30x and 50x. You can hopefully see main bevel sharpened at ~800 grit, not polished and then a secondary microbevel added at very end of cutting surface (at ~30 deg or so) at ~2000 grit. This isn’t present on other side and is to add a bit more strength to cutting edge.

It’s arrived and a nice enough little knife. Fairly thick so might thin mid section later down line, but should take a bit of abuse!

And really no idea - if scotch rite hasn’t helped not sure what else would work better. I’d guess small circular motions on blade laid flat to creat a general roughed up surface to prevent strong adhesion?

Prob not an experiment you’re keen to undertake, but what happens if you roughen the stainless cladding in terms of sticktion with wet and dry etc?
