I would imagine in a situation such as this, where a labour majority is almost certain, that this might be exactly where people might vote for a green representative (despite their manifesto clearly being pie in the sky)

Seems strange. Our constituency recently voted for almost entirely green councillor candidates at locals, in Bristol central, so surprised to see them lagging behind labour so quickly. Unless green manifesto and Carla Denyers appearance in debates have swung it so rapidly.

It’s a bit like how you if continually make micro-adjustments up and down focal planes with a microscope/camera lens you can pick out details that your eye misses just looking at a single plane

Oops so they are - daft as I should know what the ladybird larvae look like as I’ve seen plenty!

Just phone camera down the scope, with a bike light for illumination. Will try get a little light box as will make it a bit easier.

Cut back the bay tree and found these newly hatched ladybirds nestling on the underside of the leaf. Have been transferred to our nearby hop bush for them to do a little aphid control.

My front carbon rim has started pulsing under braking the last couple of rides. Inspecting it today there’s a 5cm or so patch of the rim when it comes out slightly a bit relative to the rest of the rim.

It’s a second hand wheel and no idea how long they were used for before, any signs of wear or delamination to look out for indicating imminent failure or is this already completely toast?

Yes I saw that - and one from GT vision who we’ve used before for our fluorescence scopes. £75 is a bit expensive for bumbling around in garden though

Will have a nosey and try see if I can find any eggs. Lab were having a clear out of old stuff so rescued this ancient Nikon and am looking forward to having a closer look at things under it. Insect eggs in particular look really cool so should be a good start.
