The budget is the 1000-2000 EUR max range with shipping and everything, a bit less if I'm lucky.
The thing is, I'm not in UK, and here where I live it is very hard to source good parts so almost everything needs to be imported/online ordered.
Yes, an overkill for a first build, but I want to get it right the first time and it should last me a lifetime.
I would consider an Affinity Metropolitan or an equivalent, but there's no size 59 (I'm 190cm, 34 inseam) and I can't find another similar frameset quite like it.
If I could manage to swap out a frameset for another cheaper one, with a similar geometry like Metropolitan I would be all for it. That would cut the price quite a bit.
Regarding other parts, I'm quite fond of the list so far, would you loose them because they are overkill or?
It is either something like this or a beater. It is hard to balance it out.

Hello,
For a few years now I want to buy/build a nice fixie bike which would last me a lifetime (well, the frame). I am a total novice but have been investigating quite a bit. There are no (good) parts and no frame builders where I live, and existing frames are either in too bad of a shape or not what I want.
So, I've found a couple of builders online like Alien/Viking, Bertelli Bici, Icarus... The first two looks to be on hiatus while Icarus is top stuff but a bit expensive for me plus the US shipping and customs.
Then I've found Affinity Metropolitan frameset which is $475 and I really like the geometry, looks to be good for the money and city beating. 57 is biggest size, I need 59 and it's out of stock anyway.
http://affinitycycles.com/frames/metropolitan/
Browsing prollyisnotprobably.com one day and then on the right in adverts. Tokyo Fixed ONO. Yes. Costing big $$$ but top stuff. And the geometry is slanted like on Metropolitan, which I like. Would prefer steel fork but oh well.
So, I decided to base the build on ONO, plus majority of parts from their Kinoko shop, as there will be no customs tax and I can get almost everything there.
This is still a bit of a WIP, and I would appreciate every bit of advice you could give me. Also if anything is amiss or just plain wrong, please tell me. I want to finalize the list to be more or less right from the first time as I need to source everything online.

I'm still missing a good wheelset, suggestions welcome. Classic looking ones, something like this:
I know State Bicycle gets a bad rep, but for some reason I dig the wheels on this one:

Would really appreciate your input! Thanks

Sure, what I meant is that it helps beginners like myself and not much others. Except to satisfy curiosity or the urge to post your ratios and discuss them :)
When you think about it, nothing is pointless and everything is worth discussing. You can always learn something learn, even in most unexpected places. E.g. the link I posted above might be new to someone.

For sale, nobody is buying in this crisis. Saving up for first fixie build.
