This is great....everyone answering questions on my behalf...Thanks chaps..I did actually think about doing a FAQ..
We have some double fixed black Miche in stock you want...
Dan did you see the price drop on carbon?
V
I was after a silver one...
What's the wait time on a fixed/fixed silver if I order it now? And how do I specify that's my preference? (Can I do it via email to you?)
Happy to wait for silver (depending on approximate wait time).
And thanks again to everybody for your answers :)

Just the primato stickers on the hubs, and mach1 ones on the rims, no extra v-sprint ones on mine.
Yep rim tape is super easy, no different from if you were putting sellotape around the rim.
Awesome.
The only thing I need to confirm now is that it comes in fixed/fixed, and how to specify it in the order, then I'll place an order.
Looks like a sweet set of wheels..
-
Awesome thanks.
What stickers do you mean? The primato stickers or are there extra v-sprint ones?
Is it easy to apply rim tape?... I've never done it before. i'll look up something on youtube anyway.
Can answer a few..
Miche Primato, and they have stickers on them but you can take them off easily, I did.
Comes with cog, lockring, nuts but not rim tape. I got a 16t cog.
I run 28c tyres and they're fine.

Hi varno, everybody,
I was interested in ordering a pair of the Miche v-sprint wheels (on the Mach1 rims), but had a few questions.
- What type of Miche hubs are used at v-sprint? (Primato? Xpress?) Does anybody have a close up picture of the hubs? Do they have the decals/markings on them?
- Does the wheelset come with cog, lockring, nuts, and rim tape? Can I choose the number of cog teeth?
- On the website, it's specified that : "if you wish or go "hard core" with double fixed" How do I specify an order (e.g. that I'd prefer a fixed/fixed hub, and not fixed/free).
- Also specified on website: Double section aluminium alloy - 700c x 18c - 23c. Is this a firm limit? Or has anybody had luck putting 25 - 28c tyre's on them?
Cheers.

I'm looking for a track wheelset at the moment, and I'm debating between v-sprint Miche wheels, and Ambrosio wheels.
I had a few questions about both wheelsets.
Firstly, the v-sprint wheels (http://www.v-sprintwheels.com/pages/track-wheels-custom.html).
- What are the Mach1 21mm rims like? I can't find an example of it online. If anybody has a picture, please link me. What tyres width can these rims support? Up to 25c or 28c?
- What type of Miche hubs are used at v-sprint? (Primato? Or other?)
- Does the wheelset come with cog, lockring, nuts, and rim tape? Can I pick which cog I'd prefer?
- Does the hub come fixed/fixed? If so, where do I specify that I'd prefer that over fixed/free?
- How do I get the lfgss forum discount (10 pounds)?
I'm also interested in the Ambrosio wheelset from kinoko cycles. (http://www.kinokocycles.com/track-wheelset-1.html)
- How do these compare to the v-sprint wheels? Better/worse/on-par?
- Anybody have a good or bad experience with this wheelset?
- Does it come with cog, lockring, nuts, and rim tape?
I have emailed v-sprint customer service about their wheelset, but thought in the mean time, I could everybody else's opinion as well.
Edit: If there's another wheelset I should consider for under 150quid, please let me know.
Thanks,
David. - What are the Mach1 21mm rims like? I can't find an example of it online. If anybody has a picture, please link me. What tyres width can these rims support? Up to 25c or 28c?

I just looked at my bottom bracket up close today, and not sure if it's been set up correctly.
Reason I am concerned is, only one (left) side appears to have a lockring. The other (drive) side does not (or it doesn't look like a lockring anyway).
Here are a few images of it:
drive side:

left side:
I've tried to google how it should look, but was unable to find a definite answer.
Anybody here who could advise/confirm, that's be much appreciated. Thanks.
If any further pictures are required, please let me know.

So I bought some Mavic Open Pro rims, but accidentally got too many (got a friend to buy me a pair as well).
I'm going to return a pair in the next few days, but if anybody wants them, I'm offering the pair for 70 quid.
Silver, 32 hole, brand new (still in plastic wrapping).
I'll return them to the store in a day or so if nobody has claimed them by then.

Hi all,
I'm after the following items:
- Mavic Open pro rims (or similar) (Open to the idea of other brands, or open sports)
- Goldfinger brake lever (right hand side only)
- Front brake cable (barrel end)
- Vittoria Randonneur tyres (or any other similar, decent clincher tyres)
- 700c x 23- 25-28 inner tubes
- Lockring tool
- Cable cutters
- 15 mm and 10mm spanners
- Metrix hex key set
- Chain breaker/tool
- Chain whip
- Drill (to get through masonry, brick or concrete) - would prefer to borrow this item, don't need to keep it.
- Brooks proofide
- 1/8" chain (prefer new)
- Spoke tool
I'd prefer not to buy a complete tool kit, as I've heard the parts aren't that great, and I probably wont use all of them.
If you've got any for spare ones lying around, please let me know.
Cheers,
David. - Mavic Open pro rims (or similar) (Open to the idea of other brands, or open sports)

How far is east Beers to you?
I can lend you my comedy tesco drill, it sparks as its used, but as tesco says every little helps.
A little bit far, but I could make it if nothing closer comes up. I'll keep it in mind, thanks for offering.
Are you serious about the sparks though? Sounds funny but dangerous.

dredge. Anyone got any recommendations for chain tugs to use for sprinting etc at the track?
For my last bike, I just bought the cheapest ones I could find on ebay.
I prefered using them to tension the chain, rather than having to pull/push the wheel.
They didn't become loose over time or anything, but I did check my chain tension regularly, and take my rear wheel off for transporting bike, so maybe I didn't give it time to get loose.
Easily fixed though, just quarter turn (or less) of the nut and it'll tension (or loosen) as required.

Is it possible to convert a 3/32 chain whip to 1/8, just by breaking the chain, and putting on a 1/8 one? Or is the metal piece itself actually different?
What about chain breaking tools, can they be used for 1/8 and 3/32? Or are they specific as well?
That link didnt' quite work for me...
Any tips on where to go to buy cheap (but decent) spanners and allen keys?
As I'm new to the country, I'm not sure what the good value brand names are, nor where to go shop for them.

What I'm offering:
- 2x Tubular rims (Olympic Montreal rims. Made in Italy.)
http://imgur.com/aNUoUGE - 2x Vittoria Nuovo Pro 19 "Racing Team" Tubular tyres
http://imgur.com/wV8ew13 - 2x Shimano 600 drop brake levers (Right and left) + front brake cable (nipple end)
http://imgur.com/vF6B3aa - Black saddle
http://imgur.com/ceLMsDZ - Older bicycle chain (not sure if 1/8 or 3/32)
Rims are in very good condition, barely used with brakes. No scuffs or dings as far as I can see. 32 holes.
Tyres have full tread left on them, only ridden twice by previous owner and once by me (no skidding), sidewalls look a little aged, but no issues.
Brake levers are fine afaik/can tell.
Items I would like:
- Mavic Open pro rims (or similar) (Open to the idea of other brands, or open sports)
- Goldfinger brake lever (right hand side only)
- Front brake cable (barrel end)
- Vittoria Randonneur tyres (or any other similar, decent clincher tyres)
- 700c x 23- 25-28 inner tubes
- Lockring tool
- Cable cutters
- 15 mm and 10mm spanners
- Metrix hex key set
- Chain breaker/tool
- Chain whip
- Drill (to get through masonry, brick or concrete) - would prefer to borrow this item, don't need to keep it.
- Brooks proofide
- 1/8" chain (prefer new)
- Spoke tool
I obviously don't expect to trade for everything on that list. Just PM or post what you want, and what you can offer. (Or if you have a better suggestion/alternative, let me know).
And here's the extra condition... I have no idea how to take tubular rims apart, or take the tyre off, so if you'd like them, I'd need to bring you the whole wheel, and have it disassembled (I'll keep the hubs and spokes). I also don't have a spanner, so will need one (15mm) to take the wheels off in the first place.
*Side note: I don't know how to build a wheel from scratch. Anybody who can help me with this process, I'd be very much grateful. I've PMed arup, so once I get the bits and bobs I need (rim, spokes, etc.) I'll touch base with him to build it, but in the meantime, if anybody else can help as well (and would like any of the above items), that'd be good.
Any questions, feel free to drop me a line.

Just reviving this thread to ask a tool kit related question.
I currently have no tools. Just moved to London, and I have a fixed gear bike. I need to perform the following tasks:
- Remove cog & lockring for cleaning/maintenance.
- Install new pedals
- Adjust brakes
- Adjust seat post
- Check crankset (feels ok/tight, but would prefer to be safe)
- Install new brake lever w/ new brake cable
- Change tyre/inner tube
I know I need the following tools:
- Chain whip (will 1/8 and 3/32 be interchangeable in the short term? Or do I need 1/8 (I think my components are all 1/8).
- Lockring tool (for rear hub)
- tyre levers
- Set of allen keys
- Spanners (15mm, 10mm AFAIK).
- Cable/wire cutters (maybe... I could do a scruffy job based on the leatherman I have at home)
Based on the above, I've been looking at toolkits, namely these ones:
1) http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Bike-Hand-Bicycle-Maintenance-Tool-Kit-Shimano_41164.htm
2) http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Ice-Toolz-Essence-Tool-Kit_60194.htmWhich one would suit my needs better, or should I buy the items individually? If neither, is there a better starter tool kit?
Do you guys see me needing anything else if I've neglected from the above?
Thanks.

I also need to borrow a drill. Full disclosure, I'm using it to drill through a brick/stone/concrete wall (not 100% sure). Not wood of plaster. I also have no drill bits.
If anybody is within the London zone 1-2 area, and is willing to lend me one, please let me know. Happy to leave a deposit, as I know drills can be expensive items.
-
I'm in need of a drill, as I want to mount my bike on the wall of my apartment.
The walls are made of stone, or brick, something hard (not plaster or wood).
Not 100% sure of the drillbit size I need, as the mounting frame is yet to arrive in the mail.
I understand a drill is an expensive item, so I'd be willing to leave a deposit if anybody is willing to lend me one.
I'm in London, NW1 area, and I'm willing to commute to anywhere within the zone 1 & 2 area.
Cheers and thanks.
Just ordered a pair of silver miche hubs to silver mach1 rims.
Can't wait to get it and ride it. :)
