Hi All,
Selling some rollers that I bought off of here for £100 at close to the peak of "oh my god, we're not going to be allowed out on our bikes during lockdown!"
I used them once only and they're now taking up space. There are marks from use but completely functional.
Collection only from SE London.

Hi All,
For sale is a late 80s/ early 90s Chris Paulson, marathon frame with 531 tubing. The saddles remain the san marco rolls that I purchased it with.
I no longer have the space for it and in reality, probably won't have need for it until my daughter's another 10 years older!
I purchased the frame from here 5 years ago for £350 but after the below "modifications/ updates" believe £75 to be a fair price. My partner and I don't drive, so this has been a bit our way around for weekends out of london and day trips.
Since purchased:
the rear wheel is now 700cc and not the 27inch that it came with and
as per the front - in turn this means that the rear rim brake can
not wholly be replied upon, we use the SJS drum brake even though
it's meant to be just a retardation force,I've changed the friction shifters to sti-type (?) which will
require indexing, there is a dent in the top tube from being dropped by a bike
mechanic when completing the above indexing (!) - I have been
informed by a separate bike shop that the dent shouldn't drastically
affect the structural integrity but take that as you wish...
It's set up to ridden by a leggy 6'2 pilot and a 5'2 stoker.
Due to its size, this will be for sale, for collection only. I'm in SE London.

Hi All,
Has anyone ever used WoodBlocX for raised beds? Have you any views of them compared to railway sleepers or brick?
From google searches, they'll probably work out a bit more than sleepers from a timber yard but I think that - given an amateur installation - they'll be more sturdy. Small trees will be planted in the beds. From a search, brick raised beds are the strongest but I'd need to hire a bricklayer.
Any thoughts would be welcome, including "They look a bit naff".

Due to a change in circumstances, I will no longer have space for my trusty tandem.
I've received a lot of help in the past from this thread so thought that I'd offer it up here first. It's a late 80s/ early 90s Chris Paulson, marathon frame with 531 tubing. The saddles remain the san marco rolls that I purchased it with.
The bad news is that since I purchased it from here 5 years ago:
the rear wheel is now 700cc and not the 27inch that it came with and as per the front - in turn this means that the rear rim brake can not wholly be replied upon, we use the SJS drum brake even though it's meant to be just a retardation force,
I've changed the friction shifters to sti-type (?) which will require indexing and maybe a full refit,
there is a dent in the top tube from being dropped by a bike mechanic when completing the above indexing (!) - I have been informed by a separate bike shop that the dent shouldn't drastically affect the structural integrity but take that as you wish...
It's in the basement at the moment so the pictures aren't great. I can get better pictures as requested.
There's a picture of the bike in the basement as it is now, a picture of the bike as I got it (I will search for some of the old bits if requested), and a picture of the dent.
It's set up to ridden by a leggy 6'2 pilot and a 5'2 stoker.
I purchased the bike for £350 but due to the above 'modifications' I'm happy to let it go for £75 (with a £25 donation to the forum) - I would love for it to be ridden.
Due to its size, this will be for sale, for collection only - the sooner the better. Due to the need for a fast sale, I'd be grateful for any thoughts on the price/ likelihood of a sale on here.
Thanks!

Thanks to the help from everyone on here, I ended up doing an 18/20 hour cook a few weekends back, after the mightiest of stalls. The instructions on the aldi kamado suggested a water tray which may not have been the best idea (!)
As expected the kamado held temperature at 105c, like a trooper.
Here are some pictures (rain was forecast)!

Thanks for the response.
Unfortunately, I didn't measure the internal temperature. I expected instant success at the first try! Are you saying that the cook should stop once the meat hits 90 degrees, or should it be sustained at that temperature throughout?
Would you wrap the meat in foil towards the end? It seems like it would be too late to stop the evaporation of juices by then. But possibly not!

Hi All,
I bought one of the Aldi kamados and tried my first long cook over the weekend. The results were mixed and any assistance that you could provide in terms of my process would be greatly appreciated!
I put in 1.5kg of beef brisket for four hours at 150degrees c above some trays of water, then opened it to marinade and put it back in for two further hours at 100 degrees c on a foil tray (I intended to raise the temperature to 150 for an hour once more but could not).
The meat was more tough/ less juicy than I wanted. The question is, was it over cooked or not cooked enough?!
Has anyone got any tips that they could share? Should I have wrapped it in foil for the last hour/ opened the kamado more often to check that the water trays were topped up?
All temperatures above are as per the thermometer on the barbecue...
I've attached some pictures because I always enjoy looking at them!

For some reason, this pissed me off a lot more than I expected it to. I think it's the positioning of blame on disadvantaged groups. It doesn't seem very helpful. It's less than ideal to see the comments come from someone with the same heritage as me but I'm mindful of seeming too https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_true_Scotsman Tony will have his reasons.
For me, this reaffirms my belief that people will always do and believe what's easiest for them. For example, I will eat meat until someone asks me to start slaughtering my own food.
As a father I cannot trust in this country to be better when my daughter is older but I can do my best to equip her with the tools to navigate the playing field as it stands today. I hope that she'll feel empowered to trust her instincts about others' motivations and to not feel obliged to persistently engage.

I've bashed it so you don't have to (pre-fog lights). This is my first Tamiya. It took longer than expected.
I'm in the process of putting go-faster lights on it now and have got a trip to the park booked!
I've ordered some more suspension as well but there seems to be a massive delay on everything Tamiya related. I'm not sure if it's Brexit or Covid.

Wow. Does anyone know what the leafy plants with the pink flowers are?!
