Nope. Any more ideas? Scherrit has not internet so can't do much looking.
I like the 511db but none of the DT stuff comes in 36h for the rear and my fat arse.
4 spokes extra = little bit of insurance.>
32 is enough
36 doesn't provide more resistance.
Some years ago the problem was the lower quality of spokes, nowadays it is easier to break the rim or similar probability than spokes.Alternatives...
R460Notubes Alpha 340 or 400 if you prefer.

Hi. New job means a new lengthy commute on unlit country roads so I'm planning to add a dynamo light to my setup. I have no experience with dynamo lighting. My current plan is:
SP SV-9, or 8
Supernova E3 Pro 2 front light
Supernova E3 tail lightIs this reasonable? Will the SV-9 power both lights?
I notice the Supernova E3 Pro 2 can be had for £65 with 'no rear wire' or for £140; is there a way to wire up the rear using the cheaper version and save £75? Would I need anything extra to connect the light to the dynamo?
Can I mount this light with normal calliper brakes?
cheers>
SP 9 are lighter but only 2,4w at 15kms/h (9mph), but it's enough to supply energy of both lights without problems
SP 8 can generate 3w at same speed so is better for low speeds or to recharge electronnics with a plug converter.
Yes, the front focus can attach on the brake calliper.
Cheers

Actually in shimano doesn't have "large" cage. It's short or medium cage.
For the "same" I thing it's better the medium cage in order to use bigger cassette. On the TransAm I used a 52-36 Doval 16% ovality with 11-32 cassette.
It's pretty flat extensions, and the hardest summits are McKenzie Pass (km 520) 16 kms at 6,5% and other in Appalaches to get the Blue Highway (something like 4 k at 9%).
For the Transcontinental I'm thinking to change the rings to 50-34, because the TCR#4 has more climbs and less long distances to rolling (I think only the firsts days to Laussane I can use long gears, and when you ride fresh you can move more cadence! So it shouldn't be a problem ).
I can get you some Doval chainrings to test if you want.
Some studies speak of 4-6% power gain. I think that it's true, because probable used another diferent muscles, and reduce toxic generation (formerly called lactate) -

How hard is it to swap the axle? Does it just slide into the thru-axle 15mm space?
Are you selling new PL-8X hubs?>
I never used it (15mm hubs). But you only need to put the adapter inside of the 15mm axel.
Yes I'm currently selling PL-8X I only have them with 32 Holes.
I sold one last week to another randonneur that will ride the Athlantic Way

The hub have 2 years wuarranty or 20.000 k (incluyed the bearings).
I have used twohubs (testing for SP), and I have exceeded 20,000 k using in the worst conditions. So hard than I need to replace before the rim (with 19.500 k) after a hard winter.
Finally I replace the first hub with 25,800 k, until I began to notice slack on the left bearing, while the operation was still correct and electronics intact. .
The second wheel I'm still using, and It's the same that I used on the TransAm Bike race after tested 7.000kms. Actually have 20,580 k and looks nice.
You can send me the hubs (If I sold them) to replace bearings because they are cheap, but I think it's not a good option If you need to pay the shipping cost +10€ by the bearings and 30€ by hand-work.
You can find me on the SP catalogue. :)

Hi,
SP has a PL-8 model that costs half the SON centerlock version
I used SP dynamo PV-8 (for brakes rims) on TransAm (2nd) but Jesse Carlsson (1st) used also Shutter Precision SV-8 version (with less resistance 2,4W power output).I also sell them, I’ll send you a private message with price and estimate delivery if you want

Sorry because I can't open a new post yet (I'm new in this forum).
I'm looking to travel to Scotland (from Newcastle) with my bike from Brussels to mid-July.
I've looked Eurostar, or cycling to Calais to cross over Dover (but it's far south).
The fact is that I like to start in Newcastel, and traveling with my bike in some way cheap and convenient transportation. I could catch a plane to Edinburgh, but I hate the plane too.
I'm looking Megabus, but Can't I travel with my bike?
I don't know if it's a "real" prohibition? could I packaged in a box my bike?
I wouldn't like to spend a lot of money in transport.Thank you.
A set up
