Built up for my partner who made the mistake of mentioning in passing that she'd like a road bike.
It got rode exactly twice.Frame is Reynolds 725 Thorn Fillet brazed. Doesn't have a model name so I think it must have been a custom build.
- Mudguard eyelets on the forks.
- Clearance for 28c and guards or 30c (maybe 32c though ive never tried)
- Amazing mettalic purple paint
- Ritchey dropouts
- lovely seat cluster and brazing all round
-49 ctc seat tube x 51 ctc top tube - slightly sloping geometry so more like a 53 effective top tube - Good condition with a little rust at the mech hanger, where the old front mech band on was, some cable rub on the headtube and the odd scratch and chip else where. Still looks incredible
Build spec:
- Complete Tiagra 4700 2x10 groupset (50t,34t- 11-34t). Done less than 100miles since new
- Roval Large Flange hubs on H+Son Archetypes, built with Sapim CX rays (these came from an old sunday best build of mine so have done a little more miles but loads of life left in the rims)
- Easton 70 set back carbon seatpost. Love the way the set back lug ln this looks oldschool
- Soma HWY1 modern drop bars in silver.
- Campag Chorus 1" Threadless headset
- Selle italia s3 saddle, sadly coming away at the edges a little
- Pasealla tyres with literally all the tons of life left
Pedals not included, though can chuck in some standard shimano spds if that sweetens the deal.
Viewings and test ride in Bristol.
Looking for £600 -> £550 -> SOLD let me know if i'm way off with that. - Mudguard eyelets on the forks.

My latest project is in shambles when I discovered that the CX70, top pull front mech I had stashed away for years is too small in the band for my new CX frame.
Anyone got a top pull 34.9 band or clamp on double mech ?
Or even know of what alternatives there are to the long lost Shimano Fd-cx70?

Size
Seat tube: 55cm ctc
TopTube: 56.5cm ctcThe Good
Lovely Chroming, especially the wrap around, rear triangle in good shape
Cool metalic blue finish
653, really light and rides nice
Lovely fork
No structural damage, as far as I can tellThe bad
25c (maybe 28c) tyre clearance
BB area getting ratty, previous owner add some black anti rust stuff into the mix and it hasn’t gotten much worse in the 2 + years ive been using it
The brake cable stop on the top tube is rusty too, haven’t tried to get that ferrel out, again there’s a bit of black anti rust stuff there too
A few dents in the top tube
It’s just ratty, can’t say otherwiseThe indifferent
Its got a sealed campy bb in there, I haven’t tried to get it out as I dont have the old tool, so I can’t speak to its stickiness but the bb is in great nickLooking for a £100-> £90 -> £80, collecting in Bristol preferred, but can post if needs to be
Let me know if im miles off on the price, it was a lovely frame but it certainly has seen better days.
I was gonna keep the headset, its a sealed tange thing and its been in there about 6 months but can leave it in for an extra £10er say
(I’ve also got a mirage 172.5 crank that I can include for some extra wonga that works with the bb) -
