Hello, this isn't my wheel (built) but it's still a problem to do with it's construction I suppose. I don't know much at all about wheel building or hub maintenance because it's never been something I have done myself so I would really appreciate a bit of help.
I bought a dynamo wheel recently (yay) and it arrived in the post a 2 days ago. But it doesn't spin well. at. fucking. all. I understand dynamo hubs induce a bit of resistance but this isn't normal. When you hold the axle and spin it it rotates in a clunking fashion. Not audible but in it's movement. I have a tour in 2 weeks and I kinda want to fix it before then. I have ordered some cup wrenches in the hope they can fix it and have plenty of nice spanners of various lengths and sizes so that may help additionally.
Anything is better than nothing, advice wise.

Amazing thanks for all the advice! I know with a tourer this should be the last of my worries but do Marathons still feel reasonably fast? I love cycling, and really don't want to deaden the feeling... As for bars I think I'm going to try to keep it old school with Cinelli to match the stem - love the sight of a Cinelli stamp peeking out from between bar tape!
They seem fine to me, I've used vittoria rando's but prefer these, I have them on 28c at the moment on my steel tourer they're heavier and something like vittoria randonneurs will probably run faster. But the safety comes with the weight, I bought mine at christmas and must have at least done 1000 miles since then and only got one puncture the whole time, they just werk. I plan on touring Iceland in april next year and will bring these for the protection against the gravel roads there
Edit: here's somebodys blog detailing the difference between marathons and a lighter touring tire: http://www.patricksvelolog.com/2013/08/a-test-of-many-miles-vittoria.html
Gatorskins might be better because of the weight difference but I guess you limit your terrain a bit more with them, never had them so can't really comment.
Any thought for a dynamo wheel?

Where do the bannas go?
I need something with meshing outside pockets to stuff bannas in for easy access really.
https://www.alpkit.com/products/roo-pouch they do this also which might fit one banana? I've ordered a 13l front one (but not that) and will post pics when it arrives.

This is my favourite thread. Best bikes.
Makes me want to go away again.Need to get a new front handlebar bag. Those bigtops are good, spotters bike rocks, but want it to be rackless as I like my front panniers. For bannas and camera.
Also really makes me want a geared town bike with sweptback bars. Look so cruisy.

They've sold out of most of the 13l alpkit dual bags but they have lots of single ended ones with the strap mounts (no straps) but with more capacity's but less colours I think.
