Any thoughts on this route? I leave for the ferry to Esbjerg next Saturday. Another idea would be to head straight to Sweden via Copenhagen and do a big loop in Sweden and then back to Copenhagen.

You might be underestimating the amount of people that want to travel to Denmark with a bike when thou want to, and that want to share a cabin with someone they have not met from the internet...

The ferry to Denmark is stopping service in late September, and whilst it's not known for being very cycle friendly I think it beats flying with a bike.

I'm looking to use it in August, around 15th-20th August, one way and I'm looking to split the cabin fare (ooh err) as it's all a bit pricey pricey.

4 people sharing gets it down to around £65PP.

Any interest?

I'm heading to Edinburgh for a days work on the 31st, but not coming back until the 3rd - anyone have any suggestions? Will be bringing my road bike.

Yoss, how much is the train costing? Back in April the train/ferry combo cost around £40 each way

Oh god I know, had an awful ride back from Amsterdam in April. Possibly worth heading inland for the Copenhagen - Gothenburg stretch. I'd also skip the ferries and bridges of the Netherlands this time, heading towards Antwerp, and then north to Groningen.

Visualisation of current idea. Coming in around 1200 miles, 70miles a day would put it at about 17 days.

Definitely more inclined to ride away from home, but points awarded to all of you.

Another factor is the flight cost - much, much more expensive flying from London in early August than flying home.

Starting to plan an August trip, and would love some two to three week ride ideas.

Saw a mad, tattooed, shirtless MTB rider on Peckham Road yesterday bunny hopping up and down kerbs and drafting inches (maybe less!) behind a bus. He was trying to push his face as close as possible to the bus. Mental.
