The Zuid-Kennemerland National Park was great fun too, really awesome sand dunes to play in. Sandy lunar feel. Couple hours ride from Amsterdam.

I've covered this section before but in reverse. I took the Afsluitdijk which was great fun - I camped on the western end on top of a WW2 fortress. A great camp spot was marred when I was awoken by a giant rat running over my tent.

Bike paths are everywhere in both countries, but they suck in Germany as tree roots spout through them.

What the fuck is it with people jumping out of the way on shared paths? I slow down to walking pace and say excuse me, and they react like I'm a runaway bus. These are the same belms who give cyclists fuck all room on the road, probably.

Some good news. My mate spotted his stolen bike today (stolen two months ago) whilst on the way to work, so he promptly went to a tool hire shop in order to borrow an angle grinder. Wahey!

Week 3 Episode 4 of being a bike courier - hands fell off due to lack of gloves, and there were two or three attempts on my life today (thanks drivers!), but singing 'Every 1's a winner' does make the work actually easier.

I've just been on a bike trip in Denmark and Sweden finishing with 4 days in Copenhagen - dream place to ride. Car traffic moves fine too! Everyone polite.

Losing my mojo riding in London - screamed at last night for riding primary in a tight road and told to "get on the fucking left" by a female driver, followed by a dangerous undertaking and them driving in the bus lane for 100m. Obviously caught up very quickly (who drives into Soho?!) and shouted in (the passenger screamed!) not to undertake, not to drive in bus lanes and to stop being a shit driver. Didn't wait for a response, but god, I have lost hope in this city. It won't ever compete in modal share with Amsterdam or Copenhagen.
