So which team now has the most vile away kit? Man u, Arse and Chelsea have oft entertained in the past, but the new Liverpool kits are amongst the most hideous I've ever seen. Poor Pepe Reina is going on loan to Napoli just to avoid wearing the monstrosity they've 'designed' for him.
(Liverpool fayn here btw)

[quote]Seriously considering cutting back the camera collection to just a high quality compact.I'd like summat small yet high quality, to have when on the bike/travelling light, as the D600 is still quite chunky. I'd considered the Fuji X10, but there's a number of good options around atm.

Cash back schemes take ages. Had something similar with a mac once but it will come through eventually.
Oh I know it will come through; it's a legally binding agreement. It's just a PITA. I've rung CitiBank today, but they've now told me to ring Nikon. Which I can't do until Monday.
The card thing is a bit annoying, but apparently it's just like a debit card that you can use in shops, so that's fine. TBH I might just buy more cam kit with it anyway.

the curse of spotty spots on my D600 has finally become a reality... only a handful of spots but I think it's about time to call the professional...
I did the 'white wall and use curves in PS' to check for oil/dust spots, and yes, there were a few. They don't show up on any images though. I was aware of the issue before I bought the cam, and it's reassuring to know that Nikon will sort it if it is a problem. but i'm not sure if the spots are because of the much discussed 'oil issue', or just dust specks from normal use. I shall monitor the situation.
What annoys me far more is the non-appearance of my 'cashback' card which was offered as an incentive to buy. I had a feeling that getting it wouldn't be quite as straightforward as advertised...

I've recently bought and been using a Nikon D600. 'Upgraded' from a D200, and the difference is huge. The D600 is amazing in low light, and the image quality is stunning. The D200 is a great cam, but limited especially in low light. The effective ISO and dynamic range of the D600 is much higher, and it exploits far more of lenses' potential. I've been longing for a decent FF sensor cam for ages, but the D3/4s and D800s are well out of my reach. The D600 allows me to use all my old Nikon lenses as they were intended (not being limited by the DX crop), and is getting me back involved in photography a lot more than the D200 did (bought that back in November as a 'starter' digital cam). I fear I may now have to sell bikes to fund my rediscovered passion for photography!

Fantastic thread. Loving it.
RHG is a horrible, soul-destroying prison-like dump. Revered by architecture fayns, hated by those who have the misfortune of having to live there. It's bang next to the Blackwall Tunnel northern entrance, which is one of the most polluted areas in London, and in an area blighted by social deprivation, poverty, poor health and rampant crime. I live on the Teviot estate, which 'boasts' the Goldfinger monstrosities of Balfron Tower, Carradale house and Glenkerry house. The estate is truly one of the worst in London, and although various tarting up schemes have attempted to gild the turd, it's still a cesspit of Human neglect.
Forgive me for not joining in with the romanticisation of such architecture, but I see the reality; that ideas on paper made by people with no empathy or understanding of the issues faced by the eventual inhabitants, as well as a clear lack of understanding of simple social psychology, simply don't work.
Anyway, rant over...
Just doewn the canal from me is the Abbey Mills Pumping Station. The Victorians may have bin ****s, but they did do a good building, and had a knack at making even the most mundane and unglamourous, seem fantastic; a 'Cathedral of Sewage':
