So, I traded in my van for a nice project car. Because sometimes thatās what you do. Itās a completely original, rust free BMW 320i automatic from 1990. It runs and drives great, has been meticulously maintained all itās life and now it will be subtly modded. Think OEM+. Slightly lowered, is front lip, 15ā Ronal LSs, Blaupunkt Bluetooth stereo, Tesla model S small drive unit, 54kW battery pack, CCS charging. Just the subtle period correct mods to make it mineā¦

Holy shit that is a lot fun! And ski lifts make it even betterš¤£. Together with my best friend Iāve ridden all the blue beginner lines multiple times today. 140/140 is just enough travel to keep my body from aching too much at the end of the day. Witnessing two bad crashes put us with both our feet on the ground again and we ended the day with two nice and mellow rides down āSnowwhiteā. Half a day in the morning before we head back to The Hague again tomorrow. Greetings from two very stoked bikepark newbs š

Iām going to a bike park (Winterberg) for the first time this Thursday. Anything I should take beyond my bike, full face, protection, kit, tools, spare brake pads, spare pedals, gopro, first aid kit, backpack?
Cleaned, checked, and lubed my bike yesterday. Chucked on a new rear tire at the same time (front is new as well).
Any tips are welcome šš» -
Sometimes not so shit*. But shit. We are engineering a new battery pack for the Roadster because Tesla donāt support it anymore. Well, you can order a 3.0 pack if youāre threatening with a lawsuit but two of those packs are allready bricked after less than a monthā¦
Testing has started!
*Itās fun to drive š„° -
Totally depends on specs. A Hyper9 motor using original transmission and a 40ish kWh battery pack would come in the 30ish k incl VAT for all the parts no labor. A Zonic180 with reduction gearbox (1 speed) and CCS would be closer to 50k.
Edit: aircon, power steering, extra fancy dials ad on of course

The hit to VW must be very very big indeed; we were offered 125 complete ID battery packs from a big Dutch dealerships company that were swapped out because of bad cells. Weāre seriously considering it because the price per kWh is very sharp and we know how to test the modules and reject the duff ones.
The ID modules are very nice to convert with because of their size and they are available in both 8s3p and 12s2p. Which means we can use them in many different setups. 54kWh, 400V (with fast charging), 180kW (240bhp), 360Nm midsize classic anyone? -

Three hours of shading done yesterday. One side done, one to go. Way easier to handle at 11am with a good sleep, good breakfast and enough food and drink with me. Lining at 6pm after a days work and no dinner yet was hell; couldnāt control my breathing and could only focus on the pain. Made me postpone the shading for two yearsā¦

Yes, clearly subsidized......replacing an IC vehicle with an electric one.
There are better ways of spending that money then selling a ā¬30,000 product (parts and labour) for ā¬5,000. Better public transport for instance.
Retrofitting old IC cars strikes me as a pretty poor use of resources.
Yes and no; saves a lot of energy if you donāt need to build a complete car. But it will still be an older car.
Innit, especially classics that'll do <1,000 miles a year.
Classic cars are playthings for people with money and / or a lot of time on their hands. Itās a good thing they do it but let them pay for it out of their own pocket. A lot of the time they will do a lot more miles after the conversion because the car is more usable when electric. We just had a customer swing by with his converted E-Type and he does 500km days every other weekend. And another customer did 15,000km last year with his electric T3 (T25) camper van driving around Scandinavia, and he is now roaming around Portugal and Spain.
Converting older cars makes no sense financially whatsoever; people do it because they have a special bond / interest with / in the car and they feel they need to use it in a greener way. Or because it makes them ffāin fast š

It is awesome! Very well thought out package. The only thing missing is CCS charging but that could be added later on I guess. Drive in, drive out conversions start at Ā£4x,xxx through Recharged Herritage. Go for the fastest (software) option and itāll do 0-60 in under 7s.
We have the drive unit from this kit on order to play around with our own Mini kit. Slightly larger battery pack for a longer range (a lot of Mini owners/club members go on longer drives/trips with their Minis). And we tend to offer a more diy option instead of the plug and play Fellten offer.
Yeah, but it seems pretty much dead. Tried signing up and following multiple times but never received any reaction. Tried through a different waysš¤·š¼āāļø. You van access the wiki even if you donāt sign up which is something.
I did become a member of the Dutch E30 club.
