I HAVE A Q!
so i have a 48x17t gear set up, currently single speed at the moment because i'm feeling wussy this month. i put a new kmc z510 chain on it a few weeks ago and i lube it occasionally with that finish line ceramic wet lube.
already it has needed tensioning twice and chain wear is neeeaaarrly at .50
what the hell? it's the chronicles of ridiculous!any idea what causes extremely fast chain wear?

not so much of an oh-shit moment, but at a weird intersection on kings road i was waiting at a red light on a pedestrian crossing (unbreakable red because of traffic lane merging). in the lane to my right with the oncoming traffic, it was clearly a green man but three cars were there and some pedestrians were not sure if/when to cross because this car kept revving it's engine and lurching forward. eventually it just broke the red light and so did the 2 cars behind it. the pedestrians just seemed confused like an orangutan with a potato battery.
how fucking ironic. -

although my general commute is from waaay SW, the leg of the journey involving cycling from the beginning of King's Road, the end where all those weird antique shops are to my journey's end point at Royal Albert Hall is always a mixture of traffic clusterfuck/pathetically integrated cycle lanes resulting in feeling like you've been pooped out of a dragon's arse.

a.e. wilson in peckham are cheap and all down to earth
- paul's custom cycles also in peckham i've had good experiences with
also A&W Cylces (http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/directory/1284/2883.php) is really nice since it's just some old dudes in a proper dark, shabby shop. i find that they're really good for finding parts for old bikes which have weird sizing and dealing with older bikes in general.
although they were confused by my TRP road lever breaks (which don't have gear shifters in them) so i'm guessing maybe they're not ones for the modern world. - paul's custom cycles also in peckham i've had good experiences with

thanks for the replies, friendliest bike forum on the internet!
maybe it is the chainline. i try to make sure the wear real bolts are in the same position from the edge of the drop (sounds so epic) but maybe my eyesight is going to shit (possible) or i'm just being an eternal n00b.
