in the past couple of weeks i've noticed a huge increase in the amount of glass in the "cycle lanes" blue or otherwise. couple of days ago while crossing waterloo bridge southbound there were two massive piles and a delicate scattering all the way until the bus stop. what the fuck is going on?

bad locking isn't surprising from an owner of a create

i was a bad cyclist this morning as i undercut someone who was dawdling with their clipless shoes in front of accelerating traffic. i felt bad afterwards, but that weird intersection in wandsworth makes me nervous.

i'm aware of this but thanks for the reminder, all i'm saying is that on some roads there is no way to avoid the door zone (apart from riding primary, but who does that really?) - especially fulham/king's road, which also has the most pathetic of painted-on cycle lanes.

through a sizeable segment stretch of my commute passing through fulham/chelsea, the entire cycle lane IS the door zone. it's pretty thin.
same thing with nearly all the CS routes which people can park in bits of.

encountered a fuck ton of potential doorings today, luckily the traffic was lighter than usual so i had space to wade out.

their own brand dhb clothes fit really strangely. i'm a puny weakling hipster so obvs i need the smallest size, but i don't need a chamois bigger than my head. i hope that isn't just the standard universal chamois size, then i'd feel even more inferior.

still don't really get why people go in full-force lycra & clipless on a shiny trek/spesh/carererera for commuting to work. must be a pain to change. and they are always desperate to stay ahead of any other commuters.

i would have left a little note, because that is probably the worst example of locking, on a bike that's actually nice, i've ever seen.

In their defence; those locking stands are shit - the only way to lock properly on them is to park sideways & block the whole lot with one bike (but that's still locking to a skinny bit of metal). Locking to the railing post behind would have been better but I assume the facilities manager would kick off.

Might be worth all requesting better stands?

out of shot there are plentiful normal bike stands, just for some reason there are a few of those shit ones.

this is at my workplace. although during the day it has a security guard hanging around, during the night there is NO CCTV whatsoever and as it is in an alleyway there are very few passing pedestrians (often a lot of back wheels vanish during the night).

downtube shifters (hate 'em) and lack of any rack/guard eyelets reduces the bike to a sunny-day ponce transporter essentially. if i lived in east london and went to all those canal-side bistros to hang out with my yuppie friends then i'd definitely pay more for it because that bike is PERFECT for showing off.
i'd say that most people on here aren't that sort so you could definitely shift it for a pretty high price, but just not here.
