Spending a bit of time balancing the pistons really helps. Use a flathead behind the pad with more clearance, holding back the pad with less clearance, and pull the lever slightly. You're aiming for both pads to strike simultaneously, and with equal visible clearance. When you get it just right, the rotor "pings" when pads hit. My RX4s don't rub at all.
Thanks, I'll have a look at this as well.

Is anybody running Hope RX4 calipers? I've set them up with Apex AXS and they seem to work very well, but I just can't seem to prevent rub.
The bleeding process was quite easy and I followed Hope's instructions to the letter. It just seems like the (new) pads just aren't far apart enough for the rotor. I made sure that the pistons were pushed in etc during the bleeding process, but still getting a very light rub front and rear. It's not too much of an issue as it really is very light, but still annoying. Do I just need to suck it up until the pads wear a bit?
One thing I noticed is that the brakes clamp very early in the lever action. Can you bleed brakes too well?

Tackling the big issues in this thread! I'm not going to trawl the net for evidence, but I'd hazard a guess that the overall impact of Shimano products results in a net gain to fish and their environments. It's the awful commercial/dredging stuff that really needs to stop.
Unless the OP is trolling, in which case he's reeled us right in.

Thanks. It's seemingly impossible to find what I need in the country I live in, so I chose the obvious, sensible alternative and ordered a whole bunch of AXS parts instead as I happened to have some brand new Apex shifters (with cables) lying around.
At least I won't have to internally route a shift outer through my stupid carbon bars now. Clearly worth it...

I'm setting up SRAM hydraulic disc for the first time (Force 1), and it's a little annoying. I bought the shifters 2nd hand and somehow overlooked the fact they use a banjo at the shifters rather than olive. Am I right in thinking that I...
a) Cannot in any way re-attach a banjo as they are factory crimped?
b) Need to buy a stupid SRAM cable kit with beveled banjo for about £40/lever?This isn't the budget build I was aiming for!
I built a solar generator for overlanding (on a slightly bigger scale). I'm not an expert, but it was really easy. Just need a controller to regulate the charge.
Not sure top tube would be the best place - probably better on saddle bag.
