I am after a front disc wheel but they seem to be quite rare and fairly expensive (it will only be used a few times each year).

I have two spare road discs, a Ghibli (cassette version ) and a HED freewheel (screw on). Any thoughts on using either as a front?

I think the Ghibli is the least likely to be able to be converted. I think if I can get the right sized axle in the HED then that may work.

Anyone done anything similar?

I think I know the answer to this but thought I would ask anyway, just in case there is a way!

I picked up a nice 9 speed (cassette) Ghibli at the weekend, is it possible to convert it to track? I assume the hub is not compatible with a Surley Fixer (which is only for Shimano as far as I know).

If it cannot be converted then I will probably stick it on my Argos for the odd club '10'.

I'll leave it as the complete bike for now. I think the frame would be hard to sell without the forks. I may have someone interested (not from the forum). If I really struggle I'll be in touch (assuming you have not got the parts you want by then).

I have bought an old HED like that recently, it is an old screw on freewheel type. I was hoping to run it 8 speed but only a 7 speed block will fit in the frame.

I am thinking about converting it for track instead now, has anyone done that?

Failing that I may flog it!

Mega long shot but does anyone have a front disc wheel that they would be willing to lend/rent to me? My son is riding in the youth track champs and could do with one for the individual pursuit. Based in Bristol/Bath but can get to Wales and will be in Derby for the event.

May even consider buying one if anyone has one going cheap.

I need to put a 48T outer on my son's bike for youth gear restrictions but they are not available in the lastest 4 arm asymmetric shimano chainsets.

Does anyone have a black 105/Ultegra chainset surpluss to requirements? It does not need to have any chainrings, just the crank arms (must be hollowtech II though, 5 arm and preferably 110bcd!).

Arm length needs to be 170mm

I like my TK3, the only thing I have to compare it against is a pre-cursa but it feels much more responsive/stiffer than the Dolan. Picked it up for a bargain on wiggle a couple of years ago.
