Haha, cheers. Beer & bikes are a classic combo! Cider & climbs for me. We were meeting a friend at The Woolpack but took longer than we expected to get there, so he had had five pints by the time he started the climb!

Did the Fred Whitton for a friend's birthday on Saturday. 104 miles & 11,994ft elevation climbed. I'd never experienced hills like that before (never been to the Lake District before) - I'm used to the Yorkshire Dales where a 20% gradient doesn't last long at all - they just go on for ages out there!
Quite pleased with being being in the top:
- 2.4% on The Struggle.
- 3.8% on Honister Pass.
- 3% on Newlands Hause.
- 5.9% on Whinlatter Pass.
- 1.2% on Hardknott Pass.
- 1.3% on Wrynose Pass.
Looking forward to going back to the Lakes now! There's a fair few more, lesser known passes to do, including my girlfriend's favourite - Little Langdale.
- 2.4% on The Struggle.

SOLD.
I should accept that this bike is too small for me & as such, I never ride it. So now it's up for sale.
What I have here is a 1999 GT Force in absolutely great condition (still even got original stickers on). I've ridden it about twenty five miles in all, & the previous owner rode it about two hundred, mainly indoors on a turbo/rollers. In the short time that I've ridden it, it performed really nicely, though it could possibly do with a bit of a tune up.
- 54cm silver lake blue 1999 GT Force.
- Shimano RSX (3x8) groupset - shifters, derailleurs, chainset.
- Shimano 300EX brakes.
- Araya rims on Shimano RSX hubs.
- GT saddle & Modolo bars.
I paid about £200 for it, so looking for
about the same again£195£190if that's reasonable.Preferably pick up in Leeds or Manchester, though posting is an option at the buyer's cost (probably around thirty quid).
Any questions, feel free to ask.
I'll get some better pictures up at some point.New better photos! - 54cm silver lake blue 1999 GT Force.

I guess it must do, have run 25s on this before the room has been comfortable. Mine's a 2013 MASH Bolt if that helps.
With regard to the headset ring, I replaced the headset in mine the other week & it came with a similar ring. Without it, it had a fair bit of wobble - I think it helped compress the top fairing down on the inner ring thing on the bearing cartridge. I'm no expert though.

Mine's a 58cm, which I think is a size large. I was on your thread the other day actually - unfortunate! I've got dents on both sides, once from a driver cutting across when I was waiting to turn right & hitting me head on (SMIDSY, pfft) & another while slipping in cleats coming out of a takeaway. Still fine though.
Thanks. Am currently umming/ahhing about getting a Thomson X2 stem, but then I think I might have the most generic MASH build ever.

Put some new tyres on my Cinelli MASH Bolt yesterday - 28c is about as big as I can go. Comfy!

Bikepacking setup from trip to Scotland at the beginning of May. All Restrap kit on my Paul Donohue. It was my first time bikepacking, so still getting to grips with a few things. All worked pretty well though!

Seems like somewhere I could post my Donohue:

Rode up to Brimham Rocks on Saturday afternoon. Had a pub tea in Pateley Bridge while waiting until it was a bit quieter & then hunted for somewhere to stealth-camp with my girlfriend in between the formations. Climbed one & had a few drinks before the weather came in a bit. Lovely evening! Hadn't been there since I was about eight. It's cool because there's all these huge rocks & zero health & safety so you can climb any of them.
On Sunday we cycled over the moor down to Masham for breakfast in a lovely Moroccan café. After that it was up the river Ure past Jervaulx Abbey & over into Wharfedale via Kidstones (where we stuck an LSF - Leed Singlespeed/Fixed Gear - sticker). Since we were that far up the valley, we decided to go up to the source of the Wharfe, where the two main tributaries join. Then just cruised down Wharfedale to Otley via the backroads. I was about five miles short of a century so rode a long way home into Leeds, managing to pick up a second place segment on Strava. Third weekend in a row of centuries - not bad!
