I know for sure that loads of these bikes are being sold for peanuts to guys sending containers full abroad. There's a container yard off ferry lane with guys who buy bikes no questions asked. All it would take is for the police to pop down there and run a few serial numbers through the system and i'm sure plenty of people would be reunited with their bikes. There's also a scrap yard nearby who do the same, sending them to eastern europe, they even offered me pennies for the nearly new Giant MTB I was riding when I asked about buying some scrap wheels, probably assuming it was stolen and I'd sell it cheap.
There is no winning against these scum, who steal bikes, and those who buy them to send abroad.
EDIT: I'm not in any way implying I have anything against people who export stuff, just the ones who buy bikes without checking if they are nicked, and they almost always are (who sells legit bikes for £10-£15? which is what they offer)

Does anyone have any info regarding this? My mate pulled it out of his basement and would like to sell it (he did want to bin it, but I quickly talked him out of that) Seems to have some pretty nice components and is very light for a steel frame. No rust whatsoever on the frame and under the dirt the paint is almost perfect. Gipiemme drop outs, shimano 600 mech's, simples dt shifters, campag pedals and brakes (one lever hood damaged) and giepimme cranks. I can't keep it (As much as I would love to) so it's going to be sold, any rough idea as to it's worth? I'm thinking that in pieces it's probs worth around £200, but wouldn't want to break such a lovely thing. Seems like it's been in storage longer than it was used so is in excellent condition bar the dust.

I need some 10speed campy shifters more than I need these wheels. I'm in Stratford but will meet at Highbury station.
Bontrager 700c front, really good condition, hub is fine and rim true, braking surface almost untouched. Seen very little use. 30 pounds. Now 20
Nice 26 disc and rim rear. Had a 9 speed cassette on it. Rim is true, hub is fine. Braking surface on rim is untouched. 25 pounds now 20
Another 26" disc rear. True, braking surface has worn through paint in a few places but no rim wear. Hub fine, rim true but one spoke missing. 20 pounds. Now 15
Carrera 26" front wheel. Hub fine and rim true, decent beater disc wheel. 15 pounds. Now 10
Pics uploading. Got a few more to dig out over the next few days.
Retro sun levanter 26" rear
Pair of ritchey rock comps
Campagnolo omega 700c
Alex da16 front
Mach one front
Probably more to come.

Pair of matching mavic module 27" rims laced to campy large flange hubs. Hubs are perfect, could do with a re grease. Front tire is brand new, rear has plenty of life in it. Front rim is perfect, rear is 1 or 2 mm out, almost unnoticeable but I like to be honest. Braking surfaces are almost untouched and have practically no wear whatsoever. Suntour pro 6 speed freewheel included. Both campagnolo skewers included. I'm located in Stratford but happy to meet at Highbury. Looking for £85 (bargain imo, considering what hubs and skewers and a freewheel go for alone and the front tire being brand new) Pics as usual make every piece of dirt looks much worse than it is, everything is in excellent condition with only the hubs requiring a quick polishing.

oops, didn't realise. I'm more of an mtb guy and you don't usually see many bikes post 95 with cantis, certainly not post 2000.
